How would you summarise your feelings about recent content (The Witch Queen, Season of the Risen & Season of the Haunted)? I scored it ‘poor’ due to core activities like Crucible and Gambit being left to gather dust - I feel very little motivation to play the other content. Poll is for Bungie.net forum users and not necessarily representative of the wider Destiny community…blah blah blah…don’t take it too seriously.

Seasonal content will always be boring without any difficulty.

    • Witch Queen was great, Risen was good, Haunted has awesome looking weapons and an okay story but that's it the gameplay is horrible for Haunted and the fact it brought more issues than fixed is horrible

        RIP Destiny 9-14-2014 to 2-18-2026 - old

        I think Witch Queen is way overrated, the story had alot of filler that didn't matter in the end, and Wellspring is boring, the weapons are ok at best , It is nowhere near Forsaken and Taken King Risen was a joke, a 4 week story that really hurt Crow's character development Haunted is ok, people may not like recycled content but a nightmare Leviathan is interesting, and we got character development for Zevala,Crow, Caitl and Eris , and we got more craftable weapons, Containment sucks though and they just copy and pasted the dark phase of the Calus boss fight for the ending

          • Its entirely average and forgettable. Unlike a lot of people I haven’t enjoyed the story, I’ve found it to be a very surface exploration of guilt, grief and regret that lacked any real depth. The gameplay is losing its lustre as lag and gameplay issues run rampant across the game as a whole (how long did it take to fix anti-barrier sidearm? Why not switch it to something else and reintroduce it next season after it’s fixed?). Does mean I’ve played a couple of other games and picked up Hades again though so there’s that.

            • Witch Queen was awesome. One of the best expansions in the history of the franchise. The two seasons, OTOH, have been kind of weak. IMO, it has nothing to do with the content, and everything to do with an approach to the the game that is starting to wear thin because of broken in-game systems that Bungie has never gotten around to addressing. I addressed this issue on another thread about the game being in a rut, a couple of weeks ago. The problem is that the game gets stale very quickly during the seasons because the amount of the game that remains relevant becomes very narrow. Because Bungie is trying to over-control and micromanage every aspect of play. Because of the loot table, and the Milestone/Pinnacle systems, the vast majority of the game really isn't relevant. So you wind up running around in the same narrow band of end-game relevant activities every week.... ...and because of content design and the Champions mechanic. You wind up running them with the same small number of loadouts. Because Bungie is using that system as an underhanded way of curating out loadouts. So there is very little opportunity to interact with the game creatively....and very little freedom within any given season in how we are allowed to play the game. So the play loop gets really stale, really quickly. As a result I'm finding I'm playing less rather than playing more. But if we were allowed more freedom, I'd probably be motivated to play more.

                The Legend WQ campaign was actually pretty fun to solo and get my level up faster, but the actual seasonal content (besides Duality) has been pretty average tbf. I remember struggling on the last Savathun fight for awhile until I found the right groove. Granted, I only started using Void 3.0 during that fight, as I should've been much earlier, and it became much easier after that. I haven't gotten to try Vow just yet, but I'm sure I'll enjoy that too when I get around to it. The loot just doesn't appeal to me all that much, so I'm in no rush.

                • I enjoy the idea of the WQ sorry. I didn’t like that it ended with us needing to fight her, even though we had evidence showing her what was going on. I really like that The Traveler isn’t just giving powers to Vanguard/ Guardians. What I didn’t like most was the addition of puzzles. At least for me, I really hate games that have them and needing to look up how to do them is annoying and takes away from the game play. It’s just hard for me to understand such mechanics. Also, found the physic power interesting, but hard to see the landscape when in use. Lastly for the WQ, those “bubbles” we had to shoot to make light, I was not impressed. We have space magic, use ghosts to revive us, and fly around in spaceships, do we really not have a flashlight? One of the Titans armor pieces even has a light on the shoulder. Season of the Haunted, I would rate lower then WQ. Seems like such a let down and underwhelming idea compared to WQ story. We are dealing with Nightmares again. Also how many times we have to run the same two activities? One third of the season is talking with NPCs, another third dealing with their Nightmare quest, and the last third is running around killing things and dealing with Nightmares. Why don’t we take our new 3.0 space magic and go blow-up whoever the main bad person is? Also for a season that gave us an exotic sidearm, and sidearm mod, it took them half the season to fix the mod. Then you might not even use the new sidearm. Anyways hopefully next season and Arc 3.0 will be cool.

                    Risen was honestly, a really good season. Psi ops at least had us changing locations per run and was a lot more enjoyable for me to run. The story, was excellent, and the loot was good. Risens worst sin, if you are even the type to be mad about it, is that the story was over too quick. Haunted has its moments, but has honestly been a miss on a repeatable seasonal activity. The variation in dialogue is great, but literally every run is the same and it's really boring. Sever and the storytelling is great, and WQ itself has really been the best encounter design for any Destiny campaign period. Difficult, fair, and really really fun.

                    • Witch queen is top shelf dlc expansion wise. Season of the Risen was great but hampered by being simultaneous with witch queen. Haunted is good except for the seasonal activity and some of the economy choices.
