Skill Based Matchmaking. Seriously do it. D2 has the worst PVP experience bar none.
Literally the only time I go into crucible is if its a seasonal challenge or there is some new Trials loot. PVP is garbage. Super unfair pitting me against full clans and people who are faaaaaar superior in skill than I am. I kid you not this is the worst pvp experience I've ever had has always been time and time again from this game. I play Rainbow 6 Siege, Tarkov, Halo Infinite, Warzone and I understand they are very different games and I understand I'm not good at Destiny 2's PVP however these other games are very skill based games as well and I frequently play against others that challenge me to win and do better and I keep returning. This cannot be said about Destiny 2's PVP. If D2's PVP was a separate game entirely it would not be played by hardly anyone. If you had not put exclusive loot or exp bonuses from the seasonal challenges then I know it would only be filled with the sweatiest of players. If D2's PVP was not attached to such a successful game it wouldn't exist in the state that it does currently. Put some money towards it, do skill based matchmaking so players can actually enjoy the game modes. How many thousands of complaints have you seen tackling this issue?

Ngl i kinda agree, not so much with changes cause i feel pvp in destiny will kill the franchise population a considerable amount soon, has done before so ive seen in forums But the opinion, couldnt have said it better myself Ive played all of those titles and have exceeded the expectations of mwny teams within, my yts earliest vids are of me having time to ham about in pvp ey Such isnt possible in destiny as we all whole heartedly believe we are the best, so much to say that destinys pvp brings out the toxic side of people very quickly, so much so that id recommend destinys pvp as a form or identifying aggression in people in therapy All in all, most of us would still play if the pvp environment was deleted completely, except persay trials, i feel the traditiomal 3v3 eliminate style game modes are well structured In reality however, the issues with bungies pvp wpuld be very, very different if we were stuck on the ground and wothout oir magic jumps lol

They'd add sbmm and then all of you would complain about having to sweat every match to squeak a win out. Go play comp for a while and see if you still want sbmm.

2 RepliesAgreed. on top of that this meta is the most boring and sleeper meta I’ve ever experienced. I’d rather be getting -blam!- on my a hard light around a corner than have to deal with another pulse, fusion or DMT across the map. Don’t get me started on the maps. Widows court, bannerfall and twilight gap are the worst maps in the game and ruin the pvp experience. i can’t go 1 game without seeing a pulse, DMT or fusion.

It's so bad I actually just got done laughing at my last match. It's so imbalanced with some of the shittiest map designs I have ever seen in my life for 6v6. This is a max 4v4 map game. I can't even begin to understand why anybody plays it 6v6. What a waste. Embarrassing for a AAA dev. They did so well on the PvE portion that I really had high expectations. I can safely say this is the worst PvP I have ever played in 6v6. They could seriously make larger maps and 12v12 deathmatch would be insane fun. I can't believe they neglect this mode so badly.

The game has switched between SBMM and CBMM for the PvP playlists with the populations falling to one of lowest points while SBMM was active across all playlists (lowest population was year 1 but that's a given). There is survival that is SBMM if you want to use that to try and improve(best I got). The bigger issue I see is that most newer PvP players won't know what is good in PvP/have the gear farmed out(mostly in PvE).

I'm all for some form of sbmm. This current setup is utter trash, I mean I go 40-3 and we lose. Clearly the enemy team is not what I should be facing but the flip side is the blueberries on my team are also having a bad time when they all go negative. There is no balance.

Why is it that we have to choose one or the other? Why can't there be CBMM and SBMM games to choose from? Why can't Bungie give us SBMM Rumble and the rest of games CBMM? Bungie, I've been posting about this since CBMM has taken effect. I have yet to hear anything official about how you do matchmaking. Just read these posts, PVP is broken because your matchmaking is just horrible and is frustrating. Could you at least address this and tell us the parameters of your matchmaking and why we couldn't have a choice? A twab or something in your news forum.

The Crucible has been FUBAR since it’s introduction 7+ years ago. The matchmaking, the P2P, the Cross play are all issues that one most accept. Otherwise, don’t play it because there’s no amount of feedback that will allow Bungie to alter what we are currently experiencing. It’s how the game was made and coded. Not ideal by any means but that’s just the way it is.

Play a game and you lose hard? 90% chance you will play against much worse players next round. Was it uneven? Then it's 50/50 you'll get an even match, or a match where you are the much worse players and lose hard. Rinse and repeat. Those moments where you find even games several times in a row is where PvP really shines, but you'll be lucky to get maybe one streak per day. Heck, even one streak a week. People saying SBMM is trash are probably naive to the fact that it's Bungie that doesn't know how to implement a good matchmaking system (not judging, just an observation. These things takes time and practice makes perfect). It's not SBMMs fault, there are plenty of games where you get those even match streaks all the time - and believe it or not, IT'S FUN. At least if you like the idea of constantly being challenged moderately, instead of having 100% GG EZ games, or 100% FML this is terrible. It's embarrassing honestly.

Stop playing. Bungie just refuses to accept that its PVP experience is below industry standard, and is incompatible with the experience that the PVE side of the game is giving. They will not "get it" as long as people continue to play.

Imagine them playing a PvP game and complaining they are getting wiped by their own calliber. That didn't come from me. I just heard it from the grapevine. The pvp corwd is also losing numbers back then because the game is getting really stale. That is so messed up less and less people are playing PvP messing up even more the matchmaking system. The less the players play, the sweatier it becomes and matchmaking them even becomes more messy. So I've heard. Lmao! That's why we are in this mess now. The devs changed it and here we are with a cannon fodder matchmaking system. Lmao! The messier it gets, the less gamers enjoy the PvP, the more messier the matchmaking will be. It's like a loop that goes downhill, getting worse and worse. Lmao! State if the game!

4 RepliesThen we should also get skill-based PvE. If I'm struggling to do a GM or raid, I think the enemies should start doing less damage to me and I do more damage to them until I am able to complete it. That way, I can have success without having to put in any effort. Perfect solution.

39 RepliesNo. You aren't entitled to a segregated pvp experience by virtue of being inept. Period. Juat like players who are bad at raids don't get easier encounters. You don't get to sit in the Kiddie pool, no matter how desperate you are for it.

Sbmm makes crucible stale since all it does is enforce metas and cheesie loadouts. It also matches you based off your best, so if your having a bad run or an off day, then prepare to lose a lot. It also mean you will never have a casual match. Sbmm is basically saying, "you have gone flawless or cleared a GM, so now you can only play against other flawless players or only do GMs." Finally, even if your terrible at pvp, cbmm means you can always get paired up against people worse than you. While Sbmm means you'll always be put into a sweaty match and no matter how much you improve, you'll never see the fruits of your labor.

I for one don’t want it, my games are laggy as it is, I don’t want the lag getting worse because the game decides to pair me with players all over the world due to my skill level.

Have you played IB freelance? Theres your sbmm. Also regular control. HEAVY sbmm. I myself have been playing pc shooters since counter strike 1.5 and i can tell when theres sbmm (or what they call "team balancing") or not. They have provenly lied about SBMM being there or not in the past multiple times. And it is there right now even if their lying banner on the pvp screen says it's cbmm. Why am i playing control in asian sweat lobbies on the regular while im in EU then? So stop asking for something thats already there and the game is still miserable. SBMM hurts games. Cod vanguard is already dead because of the heavy sbmm. Cod modern warfare had more sbmm complaint posts than about anything else. Apex players constantly complain about sbmm. SBMM only hurts long time fun. In any game. And this games player population isn't nearly big enough to support a healthy sbmm experience either. If you can't understand that, go back to doing patrols in the edz. This games pvp is completely dead compared to those huge cod games and even they can't remotely get sbmm right. So stop asking for a terrible system just because you are bad at the game. Just fire up some control and you'll have your sbmm excuse me "tEaM bAlAnCiNg".

SBMM isn't the way. This game just balances lobbies in a piss poor way. While it is, yes a form of SBMM, this just takes random players and assigns them to each team based on skill to create a more evened match. Will this lead to instances where there is a god fighting a god and then others a in the crossfire? Probably. But it will be a rare occurrence
