Why haven’t the pyramid ships destroyed the last city?
Just weird that they say the Witness is using his full arsenal outside the traveller yet the pyramids haven’t used their gravitational anomaly abilities at all like they did during the collapse. I mean one pyramid was able to take away an entire planet and we still have nothing that can dmg them. Feel like it’s a huge plot hole. And it’s weird because they haven’t retconned the pyramid abilities since it was talked about in the final shape collectors edition.

The way I see it is that it’s a distraction. The witness is trying to stall us from entering the portal. How do you distract a bunch of guardians? Threaten the weak that they are told to protect. While we fight off the hordes in the city, the witness is able to gather his forces inside the traveler for when we inevitably cross over. Destroying the city would invalidate his plan. If the city is destroyed, every regular person would die. But guardians would just be rezzed. Now, without any city to defend, we could focus on getting into the traveler. And when we do show up, we’d be even more pissed.
