Magnificent Howl rework

I hate the rework, that’s all. Should be a dueling perk, not a kill reward perk. Edit: To clarify, the new perk looks like it will be pretty good, but it is not matching the original role of the perk. This would have been better as a new perk rather than replacing Magnificent Howl.

  • If its still the same 2.5 x multiplier that would make for a mean lucky pants build. Just get 18 kills on lesser adds then shoot 16 rounds with a 180 RPM with a 2.5x modifier at a boss. You will outdamage malfeasance and wardens law by a lot.

  • Im also just as pissed off that they are bringing back the Lunas Howl over the Not forgotten In what world would I want the lesser version of a gun? They told us they were taking them out of them game for the health of the game now they give them back but only the -blam!- one

      • IMO there's too much going on to accurately say how well it will perform. I didn't watch the stream, but I'm sure I saw on Twitter someone saying that the bonus damage is 33%? If that's the case, then you'd be able to kill in 2H1B with 2 bonus damage bullets even if one hits the body. I think it's unlikely that it would take 1 kill to get 1 bullet, so if 1 kill gave 2 bullets then that could let you chain indefinitely so long as you kept getting kills. Another comment on here mentioned the range - the roll from the stream had 41 Range, same as the original, but with no increases used. With a better barrel, MW and mag, it would have 66-76 Range. That translates to 29.5m at base, up to 34m without considering whatever Mag Howl grants, which is perfectly fine and competitive IMO. Plus, it is retaining its Precision Frame, which makes landing successive shots a lot easier.

          It's basically a hybrid of Litc and Momento Mori but on a gun with half the range and more work to get it going especially if you need multiple stacks of Mag Howl for a 2 tap. Meanwhile people over here basically 2 shoting fools from across the map with Golden Tricorn or Precision Instrument Igneous Hammers 🤷 But old Mag Howl is too OP in this sandbox, right? OG Luna's Howl was my go-to PvE handcannon as well. Mag Howl was an absolute Major buster. Even did pretty damn good boss DPS when paired with the old autoloading Lunafaction boots. Good times 🥲

            • I think it's still better than the previous version. 2 crits buffing (body shot) damage and tripling range for 1 shot. Said perk was actually nerfed a lot harder than they said back then, so it's weaker than it's supposed to be. Useless in PvE, meh in PVP. Or this version that buffs your damage and range based on precision kills before reloading. The timer doesn't look like it starts until after you start shooting again, so you should be able to chain it nicely in both modes. Arguably better than my idea from before sunsetting. I was saying each crit should increase your damage by 6-7% in PVP, double that in PVE, and reset the same way (missing or 3rd shot fired). My idea was basically a downgraded Cranial Spike/ Precision Instrument before either we're even introduced. Crit damage would've been higher, it wouldn't be able to 2 crits 1 body, but straight crits would be stronger and it would've been viable in PvE again.

              • It just seems like it would take a while to get going. And in order to really get going the gun would have to be so strong that people would already be furious anyways. Unless I'm wrong it said "precision kills" and unless the gun is just insanely OP as far as aiming having it require precision and a kill just makes it seem like its not going to be happening that much.

                • What is the Mag Howl rework, and is it going to change the Mag Howl perk we currently have, like they did with Breakneck?

                      Hybrid... obviously favors Hunters. Crits proc it too. They said the API is live, but I can't access the new stuff yet. But what if it can roll with Precision Instrument... or I recently said Opening Shot on 140s is dead... for this perk, it might be good. It isn't as seamless... and they took my idea for earning and banking powerful bullets with a reload mechanic meant for LitC. If you build into the gun, I think it will be a very strong option in both PvE and PvP. Especially on Hunter... I still see the gun as a dueling weapon... hit your crits, play your life. The difference now is you need to ramp into a reload, but if you don't die... or die often, and it can 2 tap? That's pretty strong, I think. If it can do what Igneous can do with Precision instrument with a little more buy-in...

                      • I guess it really depends on how big the damage buff actually is. If it lets you 2 tap with one stack then it could be very strong. But I highly doubt that, probably gonna need 2 stacks minimum
