Man, these employees at bungie were spoiled rotten brats. Cooking snd knitting classes while your product is a dumpster fire? No wonder profits are down. Welcome to the real world. These are adults, not children. Any job in the world if you underperform there will be consequences.

Buddy you have no idea how difficult game development is. Were those classes needed? Nope. But I wouldn’t call the devs spoiled. I highly doubt the devs worked 1 hour then spent 7 hours knitting

Meh. Most people work very hard in my experience through life in different fields. Cooking and knitting classes sounds spoiled rotten to me.

Just because the world is dogshit for others, doesn't mean it should be for everyone. They don't HAVE to lose those benefits just because some idiots are ruining the game for everybody.

Yeah, but if my company is losing money, I'm dropping "benefits" like cooking and knitting classes immediately as there is no real profit add here. If your employees freak out about it, you've spoiled them. Most companies don't have these things.

No profit no, but morale is a big problem at bungie already. No job security anymore AND they take away benefits that used to be there...spoiled or not it still looks like crap. Just because not all companies can afford it, doesn't mean others should be brought down to that level and that be made a standard where you are nothing more than a worthless cog fighting to just not be replaced. Obviously bungie can't afford it anymore, but of course it's THEM who suffers and not the ones making stupid decisions. I wish companies "spoiled" their employees more. Maybe people would actually wanna work in this day and age

To some degree yes, but if the people that work on the game CAN'T FIX WHAT'S WRONG because some -blam!- with an ego says no, then what are they supposed to do? No amount of hard work or stripping of benefits can fix that and you KNOW it. Legit, a bad boss ruins people that want to honestly work and then the WORKERS suffer cause the boss can't be touched. So many companies deal with that, ESPECIALLY in the gaming industry.

I agree with you to a certain point. So many mistakes have been made and it sucks. I'm a huge fan of bungie from day 1. I don't even recognize what they used to be anymore.

Same. I grew up with bungie's halo and where they are now is just depressing. It's like it doesn't even matter what I could say to them anymore. Used to make posts like every day on here, now I only do it if I'm mad at them. -blam!- sucks man.

Yep. Seems to be a pattern with the problems tech companies have been undergoing since capital dried up with the post covid recession. Who’da thought treating workplaces like adult daycare would be fiscally irresponsible in the long term?
