How long until Sony takeover of Bungie?

I’m gonna say Sept. 2024.
I’ll bet some useless IB gear and some ugly seasonal armour.

5 RisposteThe death spiral of Bungie started when D1 was released and it was not the vision and the game that was promised. What was delivered was a chopped up game with no connection. There have been some good updates and expanisons, but each one was like a gasp of air. Only providing enough buoyancy till it started sinking again. Some of the final nails were purging the forms of the majority veteran players who offered creative advice only to be shouted down and bullied by toxic players and hard core supporters and eventually temp banned by overzealous Ninjas over and over again, so a lot of the veteran players stopped posting. Veteran players from D1 and players who go back as far as HaloCV. No accountability for Bungies mistakes and system issues. Recycled weapons and modes. There is no connection to your character. Grinding for that exotic, weapon or armor piece is mute because you have to eventually do it all over again. The leadership lost touch with their core players along with Devs and community leaders. They fell into the social circle trap and never once looked outside of it to get grounded with the majority of the player base. And a rampid Eververse. I stopped playing. My kids do the majority of playing, but its only to pass time between their other games. I do hop on once in a while just to kick the tires. I knew this day would come. Hopefully the future will be better.

2 RisposteIMHO: if Sony do make a move, draining the upper tier MisManagement crew at BHQ should be at the top of their list. Reinstate ‘gamer’ people at the top. Put D2 on notice … and announce D3 in the works. Remove the ‘nickle and dime’ mindset. Other forms to be considered could include a subscription model - a plain and simple one. Divide PvP and PvE into two separate and individual entities. Install a warp drive engine…and dedicated regional servers. Create a proper league table for PvP players to enjoy a fair fight experience at all levels. Communicate openly and honestly with us. Other stuff - tbd. This amazing, loyal and passionate Community will support Sony - if they play straight with us. There’s more, for sure, but for now, that’ll do for starters… Play fair! Play nice! Ease springs! 🫡

Depends on how well Final Shape does. I'm not in the know how about the corporate side of all this, but if Final Shape does poorly, I imagine Sony will start doing something in summer or fall.

Given Bungie's current direction, I'd say 6 months, if that. They are going to miss 4th quarter revenue goals by a ton based on what we've seen.
