To be honest this is the first time I haven’t been excited for a new season, and this is their last season ever. What watered down my motivation to get on is what happened to those employees. I don’t hate on Bungie, just disappointed. Since WQ, the game hasn’t been feeling the same. Crafting kind of ruined the looting aspect of “chasing for that roll” type of gameplay. Story wise I think it’s above average. No complaints there. PvP is getting some love I guess after how many years of back burner. Micro transactions all over the place. Worst thing they did is bring the Witcher ornament sets and charge $20 per set 💀, what are ya doing over there? I mean hey! At least I’ll have 7 months to do the seasonal story, and get reskin weapons, and recycled weapons 👍🏻. Worth my $100 that I paid last year with Lightfall. Hope the game gets better with Final Shape.

  • Well, respectfully I wouldn't say crafting ruined the chase. Its player choice to craft. Anyone can completely forego that. The player can choose to chase the perfect roll via engram decoding. I'm the type who does prefer crafting. I don't mind RNG, but only when its a wild loot system like Diablo or Borderlands. Not enough here for RNG to feel good, despite there being alot in the game. I do like the delays though. I don't feel pressured to grind the f*ck out of it, but I've acclimated more over the past few seasons too. This studio doesn't have the skill for anything beyond 2 content releases per year though.

  • "Its player choice" is a lame cop out when, if you don't use the crafting system your weapons will always be worse than crafted weapons. It's just cold hard facts. Players are given every push to use it. Also crafting weapons did kill the master raids for a while because there's no reason to run them when crafted weapons are always better. Crafted weapons getting enhanced perks has negatively impacted the loot system of the game

Alot of those "enhanced" perks only give you a little extra in stat points, and that's it. Like the only difference between Headseeker and the enhanced version is 5 stability points. That's it. Headstone, Explosive, Dragonfly, Vorpal, all just get 5 extra points in one stat with enhanced perks; no extra functionality. There are definitely better enhanced perks, like enhanced Target Lock, or enhanced Keep Away. This does affect things more, this is true, but the vast majority of these perks are simply a longer activation time. This does make a difference, and alot can happen in a few seconds in this game, but most enhanced perks don't do much extra. You can get faster ad clear for a few more seconds, I suppose, but its negligible for bosses and super strong enemies. Minus Target Lock. That's still mean, even post nerf. There are those perks that give extra energy, or ammo regen, but we have so many avenues for ability energy regen, that those don't matter much, and most reloads are pretty quick. I'm heavily selective with reload perks. I know I've decided to forego quite a number of enhanced mods because they don't offer enough extra to me, to be particularly useful. Most of this stuff, the only place you'll really see any difference in is the PvE side, where competition isn't a thing, save for the competition people make for themselves, but that would be on them for making something non-competitive, a competition. PvP doesn't offer alot of opportunity for alot of perks to be worthwhile. Some perks do activate quicker, so I can see where that matters in a firefight, but with how PvP runs, it makes no real difference. Enhance Incandescent is a mean one, as is enhanced Precision Instrument. But while it can be useful PvP side, I find area effect is minimally effective in PvP. Precision Instrument is one though, that even in PvP is mean for sure. People, at least in my lobbies don't bunch up really, so anything area effect is better used PvE side. I can understand the sentiment, but I know I just don't see much of a difference, save for a couple outliers, and I've played plenty between crafted and rolls with identical perks.

  • Even though enhanced perks are only a few stat points. Why would anybody choose to not use them? The shiny extras for leveling and a few extra points. Just makes random rolls obsolete. That's why it killed adept raid weapons. Just a few points and blah dead weapons.

  • Agreed! It doesn’t have the capacity to put out 2 releases in a year
