  • Handheld supernova (especially with controverse holds) fills the same role of "eat some damage then throw a close range blast at everything in front of you. So yes HHSN is directly competing with it. It's literally a better version of handheld supernova that blocks damage for you and allies without needing an exotic and doesn't force you to run magnetic grenades and looks like it will have anti champion capabilities with suppression from the PvE gameplay. It makes handheld supernova even more redundant than it already is.

  • Why would you react like that to a push? HHSN is an ambush ability, or at least a bait trap. You don't do it simply because you're getting pushed.

  • It literally boops people back and was sold as and historically been used as a "no" button to shotgunners. It's absolutely supposed to be an anti push ability.

  • It was not a "no button for shotgunners" that's just headcannon. It's burst damage at close range with the cost of ready time, it rewards reading the opponent rather than a quick react thing. You can disagree with this description and use it how you wish, but the difference between our understanding ends with me having no issue with it and you being here complaining about it.

It has historically been used by most people as a shotgun counter since it first came out and was damn good at it. Furthermore it's a logical fallacy that doesn't counter any point I've made in this post and exists only to try and make yourself seem superior to me. My point has always been that these two abilities essentially do the same thing, but one blocks damage, inflicts an anti champion debuff, and doesn't lock you to a bad grenade. You never made any attempt to disprove or argue against this in like 4 comments. Don't bother replying. I'm done here.

  • Compete with the better hand held grenades that titans are about to have. You don’t see hand held grenades forming a shield of any kind do you? It doesn’t even one shot. At the very least, if the titan hand held is gonna block damage and deal a hefty amount of damage after the meter charges then the actual hand held grenades from warlocks that provide no shield should instead get back its one shot power. One is defensive and the other is offensive which makes total sense

  • Moves aren't 'competing' with other moves, that isn't how it works. Even Bungie validates this falsehood.
