I thought this Seasonal activity would be perfect for Festival of the Lost, just add different enemy types and Glints narrating and you're all good?
Infinite forest was definitely a better experience for Festival of the Lost though.

What was the forest like

Modificato da Olórin: 9/22/2023 5:54:20 AM
What was the forest like
Not sure if you've seen like youtube videos or experienced Mercury before it left but the Infinite Forest was a location on Mercury with a series of different layouts and enemies inside it. It was like a portal at the end of Mercury's map, you enter and you'll be inside the Infinite Forest. Its a real shame because Bungie had a great opportunity to implement a Rogue-like feature that would genuinely be fun to do just when you're bored at times... Anyways, i digress. As i stated above, the FotL Infinite Forest version was basically the same but spoopy, you had those vanishing Hive Knights (similar to the three in Shattered Throne Dungeon end encounter), they were invincible and constantly creeping after you as your team work your way throughout the different encounters. At the end I believe, could be wrong its been a while, the team reaches a point at the end where the invincible boss becomes vulnerable and you get to kill it. Throughout your run you're timed but you also have an objective to complete through each section, i cant remember if it was holding points or killing targets to unlock the next section but the more sections you open the more rewards you gain after defeating the boss.

I missed out then!
I missed out then!
Yes and no, it was a good event at the time but Bungie tends to repeat the same event, again and again... And again. The Lost Sectors were alright (imo) until nothing really changes each year, likewise for most of the other annual events. The weapons are always interesting but the grind isn't when it comes to the activities.
-
But the grind hurts
-
The Lost Sectors arent bad but I had it in my mind Bungie would just use it as a one time thing for a more grander approach... As per usual i was wrong lol The grind i dont mind as long as the activity is somewhat engaging or interesting.

The Lost Sectors? Again, at first they were interesting but after (is it the third year now?)... Repetition being a thing with the events it just feels kind of a slog to get through.
-
But ya it is boring to go through
-
I mean the grenade launcher
-
But the grenade launcher is not good
-
Ohhh, i didnt even know FotL had a grenade launcher 😂 Sorry was in the gym, is that GL the latest weapon for the event?? Ill have to check aha.
-
And it’s ok
-
-
I agree
-
Ya the lost sectors were ok
-
It was a cool event, although I never did make it very far. Man, to think I once actually sucked at this game more than I do now. Yeesh.
-
Yup, the thing is us being sucked into the game only made Bungie more content with making us do less interesting shite... Like reprised Lost Sectors for a yearly event lol They would be better off making a Festival of the Lost X Dares of Eternity event instead.
-
I don't mind the Lost Sectors too much, so long as they work as intended. Of course, in light of recent events...............🤷♂️ The Dares x Festival idea could be cool, although Bungie may not go for that on account of the champions in Dares. Some players may not have an understanding of how they work and seasonal events are for all players, after all. Out of curiosity, where did the info on this year's Festival come from? I may have missed it in the TWiD, but I don't think so.

I still feel that FotL Infinite Forest had a better atmosphere for Halloween and yeah Champions would have to be taken out for the FotL Dares of Eternity but still would feel a little more fun with the modifiers at least. I'm not quite sure, i havent read anything either tbf, ive just seen people speak on FotL again 🤔

Yeah, at the very least they could alternate between the Sectors and the Forest each season. Honestly, I saw FotL as the title and that's why I started reading the post; I forgot it was getting to be that time of year although I don't know how, the temperature is beginning to drop where I'm at and I don't do well with the cold. 🥶
