Bungie lied about adding detection against cheat hardware so they get praise alongside ubisoft/activision (mousetrap/ricochet anticheats) so lying about ddos to deflect blame is totally in their wheelhouse.

I honestly could see that as a possibility but I could also see people committing these dos attacks because of the the weapon crafting glitches i mean it used to be super common in trials though of course I can't remember an attack on this level happening before usually it is just Bungies fault because they know their game is built on an old engine that keeps breaking and their ridiculous insistence on keeping connections to peer to peer instead of joining in with all the other companies and getting their own servers.
