Using Twitter to communicate important updates is incredibly stupid.
If you don’t download the app and set up an account, your twitter feeds are completely worthless because you can’t sort them in any sort of logical fashion. When I click on service update it takes me to the help account page which starts with a tweet from October of 2019. Bungie’s native iFrame twitter feeds on their help page are exactly the same and completely worthless. They also don’t update the pages they link to for more info when they post server maintenance updates even though they say “for more info click here”

It was really hard for the Community managers to copy and paste their replies as it was on this forum when they would say, "will take this to the devs" for 9 years. I play Warframe and with all the updates I'll get a notification on the app of what's coming up, and in my ship, I have a monitor that is regularly updated that gives all the info of what's going on, and if I want to read it, it's just a click away. Hmm, here is an idea... Why don't they make the directory in this game more useful? It was really easy for them to add the shop so I see no reason why they couldn't update it 🤷♂️

I agree, Bungie should be taking advantage of the fact they have a website, companion app and in-game notifications. Sifting through 2 (or is it 3 now?) official accounts on Twitter, a sub-reddit and the News section here to find out what's happening is a joke. Adding a Service Alert's section to the app and actually using in-game notifications effectively would remove the need for multiple SM accounts and would do more for protecting the devs from harrassment.

Yeah, twitter is garbage. I created an account once, but it has no organizational system at all. It's made by people with no attention span for people with no attention span. It resembles nothing more than children babbling.

I just think its stupid that they put all the resources and development into this app, specifically for Destiny, and were just like [i]"We're not going to use it"[/i]. Do they not understand the value of money and effort?

I've brought this up before. I think one responded, but it wasn't exactly a good answer. Why even have sections of their own site dedicated to their games when they are more active on Twitter or Reddit than here? All this site gets is TWIDs, patch notes, inclusion related posts, and donations to various causes/ organizations. They don't even put links to the other, more informed sites.

I’d posit that any kind of communication on Twitter is bad. 😂 Like most things, I’m looking at you Reddit!, it could be a wonderful thing but the more bitter people who have too much time on their hands ruin it for everyone else ✌️

I always thought releasing news on twitter as if everyone uses twitter was shortsighted. I also never understood why there was not always an daily news section for announcements and alerts. I get lots of people have twitter. I have two accounts. I don't use it for news or follow it regularly. Hell i only made them for logging into websites that allow simply a twitter log in.
