As far as I know, only 1 rank gives you anything for interacting with this pointless system.
Rank 6 to 7 gives 4 more in-game loadouts to utilize. After that, I'm not aware of any benefits. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong)
Bungie said it was supposed to represent mastery within the game yet almost everyone started at Veteran. 3000hrs played? Veteran. Bought the game 3 weeks ago and masterworked a gun? Veteran.
I personally have 0 desire to interact with this system until it's given a proper purpose, some benefits, and a change in the ladder to more accurately categorize players that actually represent their mastery, both past and present.
In its current form, it's a waste of both player time and developer time.

Yeah. I've done dozens of legend lost sectors solo and many flawless during Beyond Light. Yet they think I'm going to bother again for a temporary bump?

Same. I did it anyway this season then more info came out about the ranks and I immediately stopped caring. I typically play with the same people and I'm sure they dont give a F what guardian rank I am. If the next ranks come naturally though gameplay, fine but I'm also not thrilled about the idea of having a higher rank that attracts new players to DM me for help. No offense to them, I just dont have time for that or want that kind of attention.
