They effectively want to phase out some go to weapon combinations and likely save them for underperforming archtypes. Reload + damage perk, this combination effectively makes other perks meaningless so fewer weapons in the future will likely have them. They can't reduce this combination if they bring up everyone's hoarded weapons when ever they reissue something.

I think the only reason these ones are being reissued so soon is all the complaints about the locations not having a use. They still likely would have had to reissue some weapons to pad out the world drops next season but theres likely still some fixed roll weapons that could be used. Likely still will considering the state the world loot pool will be in next season, maybe a random roll vestian dynasty and no turning back?

Yes, and think about it for a second. What is the point of reissuing weapons at a higher light cap if the activities surrounding the locations don't have a higher light cap? remember when they said that there are going to be locations around in Destiny 2 that still allow you to use your older weapons? the 1060 areas are meant for you to use all the old weapons that you're holding on to. Come time when you're done playing around in that part of the sandbox, you'll bring yourself to the newer content where you'll need to find higher light level gear. There is no point in raising the level cap in the older areas unless of course they want to put in challenge modifiers and inject new weapons and repurpose the older locations entirely.

The issue is people will latch onto any point that has even the smallest amount of validity for why sunsetting is bad. This case being the old content not having relevance. It simply could have been solved by changing the loot pools to drop an item from the world drop pool but then everyone would be complaining about how you can no longer complete collections and any triumphs associated with it. Appease one group and piss off another.
