Agreed 100%. This is kinda scummy on Bungies part.

There's nothing scummy about this. Bungie told us that some weapons would be re-issued with new perk options available. That's what we're getting. It also gives us a reason to go back into those dungeons, and also a reason to go back to the moon and dreaming city besides running around for planetary mats. I think this is perfectly fine. I would have liked more of the weapons to get re-issued, but this is a start.

The one major case to raising power cap of old gear is raid weapons. A real issue is that a lot of people over look is raid weapons. The raid weapons from last wish and Garden are now dropping with a cap at 1410, while my old pre-BL gear from from those raids is capped at 1360. Besides the new cap and the sticker, there is nothing different between the versions. All perks are the same. If bungie wants to reintroduce gear (with no changes to perks) or raise cap of current drops (without changes to the perk pools), I think raising the cap for that gear would be ok since reintroducing it without changes indicates the weapon really did not cause power creep at all. Just my thoughts...

I can agree with that. The raid weapons are not following the rules that Bungie had set of having new perk options. If they did then I might be more inclined to argue against it. Seeing as how they are dropping exactly the same kinda goes against what Bungie said. At the same time, It still gives players more reason to grind those raids. Especially if you like that content, so I'm not going to die on that hill.

Only some things are.

You paid for access to that content for a year. You've had it for significantly longer than that. Bungie doesn't owe you anything with regards to that content or gear. They don't have to give updated loot there, but they are. This is a bonus, nothing more, nothing less.

New perks as an incentive to farm them should be JUST THAT. Players with these weapons should not be punished by this design philosophy. And no, this shit is not perfectly fine are you out of your mind? They are taking people's weapons away, pissing on the fact that many players spent hours for that perfect roll and telling them "too bad get a new one" instead of designing new loot. There's no same way you can justify cheating your player base.

There's no reason to pursue loot if they just increase the cap on the loot you already have. If you have 12 god-roll shotguns then there's no reason to go for another one, is there? This isn't rocket science. They are designing new loot. This is a free update to inject more loot in older content to try to keep them relevant. They haven't cheated anyone. They said there would be sunsetting. They said there would be re-issues. If you don't like it and still purchased the DLC/season then that's your own fault.
