I really feel like Bungie needs to commit quickly to fully 'sunsetting' fallen as enemies soon, ideally within a few seasons honestly. The way Bungie treats the fallen has started to feel very 'have your cake and eat it too' if you will, and with an apparent alliance between guardians and cabal on the horizon, i think its time for Bungie to make a change in the game that would actually be cool for once. (Posting in lore because i feel like its a discussion of specifically the fallen's position in lore rn, and how that contrasts with the language inherent to gameplay, but mods feel free to move somewhere more appropriate if this is the wrong place). Tldr; Im thinking about a video game too much lmao stasis go brr
So. I do agree. And depending on what they do and how they set it up, the Scorn could easily take the place of the Eliksni. However, at current it does make sense to keep three/four warring factions. House Light, Spider’s Crew, House Salvation and House Dusk. All have wavering ideals so it does work, but eventually Salvation will die out unless absorbed into Xivu Arrath’s army or because they die out similarly to House Wolves or joining House Light or Spider’s Crew. As for the Cabal, at current we have 3 active factions in the system. The Cabal Loyalists, Caiatl’s supporters and the Red Remnant. Whilst Calus isn’t in Sol his forces do remain and considering Caiatl is making a push to get the Red Remnant back on her side, we could see her take over. Again, that does depend on how the story develops.

 • I don't mind Scorn completely replacing the Fallen on places like the Tangled Shore, Nessus, or even the Moon, but no way in hell do I want to fight them on Earth.

 • I really hope the scorn don’t take the place of the fallen. It makes sense lore wise, and the scorn are cool in the lore, but no. The scorn are so annoying to fight, if I get in the corrupted strike, 9/10 I will leave it’s so annoying to deal with

 • What exactly is annoying about them to fight

 • They teleport around all the time and they are immune when they do it, it is almost impossible to get a headshot on the ones with shields, you have to shoot their feet to stun them first. The screebs are fast and small so you might not even see them if you are looking away from your radar

 • So... By proxy you hate fighting taken, fallen captains, cabal, and cursed thrall?

 • Fallen captains are fine, they don’t teleport as much. Cursed thralls are fine, they are slow. Taken thrall are also annoying, especially on controller and console

 • Here's the thing with me. Scorn are a bi-product of a time in Destiny when the solution to making harder enemies was to create enemies harder to catch in the first place, in fact we're still in that era Scorn hide and make it difficult for the player to get their Crit spot. Be it through ravagers flailing their Crit around or lurkers blocking it with a small shield. We're so powerful that one head shot can kil most rank and file enemies with one shot. When I fight scorn I enjoy it, because it's not just "aim at head and shoot" like fallen or Hive, you have to work around them

 • I understand that, but I think that there could be other ways to make it harder for us. Make enemies able to go be us debuffs like slowness, increased damage taken, or less damage dealt. Give the enemies some abilities they can do to us

 • There are, wizards cast aoe's that slow and damage yet they're easily destroyed And enemies that simply take less damage because they want too seems kinda cheap and with the proper weapons can even be negated. Imagine if an ogre could cut damage it recieved in half, a quick lament combo would still one shot it

 • I want to see more of that. Captains could be able to do something. Minotaurs too maybe. Like the strike modifiers, have them permanently have a zone of increased damage taken when defeated. They need it to be able to proc more and for you to be affected by it enough that you always have to watch out to maneuver around it. I get what you want, and I understand it. I like it being hard, I just want it in a different way

 • But do you enjoyed having your movement or aim impacted? Do you enjoy tether totems from scorn chieftains? Or wizard smoke bombs? The wyvern and brig are what I would like to see moving forward. Enemies designed to be tough, while hiding their Crit spots in a not so obnoxious fashion. A wyvern can be dispatched by shooting it's face and then the Crit spot in its belly, same with the brig if you deal enough damage

 • I didn’t just mean areas of slowness, there can be areas of decreased damage done, increased damage taken, things that passively affect you. I enjoy challenges, and if a slowness makes it hard, then I like it. I think we can both agree that the game is too easy. There needs to be more difficulty. We just disagree on how difficultly should be added. I have class in a couple of minutes, so I may not be able to respond immediately, but I do enjoy debates like this that are a reasonable way to change the game that isn’t an immediate insulting match.

 • Maybe the best way to increase difficulty is an A.I. update? I know this was a touchy subject a couple months ago but the deep stone crypt raid was too easy in teams of enemies rather than mechanics. Dregs and Captains can't aim to save their life

 • No doubt the AI needs an update. They need to be able to aim, and they should have a lot more health to make it harder
