They only "sufffer" through PVP because they choose never to prepare for PVP in a game mode that actively uses it. This is comparable to being an anti-vaxxer and avoiding vaccines, then being struck down by the common flu.

The thing is: I don't want to ever experience PVP at all. I want a 100% pure PVE experience, where my only interaction with other humans is cooperative not competitive. I would avoid Gambit if I could get the best PVE gear without touching Gambit. Same for Crucible and every other part of the game that has even a little bit of PVP element added to it. Take Gambit, remove invasions, just make it "race to kill the primeval faster than the other team" and I'd consider that a fair compromise. I hate PVP. I want to succeed at strikes and raids without ever touching PVP. The analogy to antivaxxers doesn't fit, and I feel really insulted being compared to those jerks. :(
