If they ever make that mode then I'll definitely jump into gambit. pvp was the only reason I never bothered. Also shout out to Calus for bringing 4 gambit weapons into the menagerie. If it wasn't for that I would've never enjoyed Trust.

I think it would be fun. Just pve competition and they can just throw a bunch of hard modifiers and tough enemies.
