I know that IB just came out but Jesus it’s ridiculous. This whole light level thing is ridiculous most of us can’t play enough to rank up fast and be a high enough lvl to even compete. So far I’ve been versing 950 plus’ and I’m a 921. My jade rabbit is doing 49 to the head and I’m getting smoked even when I get the first shots on someone. My Chaos reach smacked a guy in the face for 2 seconds and he just shotguns me and I get no kill. I understand the whole light level advantage thing. But jeez can’t you guys just put us a group! 900-920, 921-940 etc. I’m getting demolished because I can’t play enough -_-. Okay rant over back to getting trashed on.

Totally agree. I'll paste here, what I've told in other topic. I've just get back to play pvp after few weeks of resting from it. I liked Iron Banner before New Light, but... hell! What did you do with this activity?! Theres no point to play it, unless you have 950 light/power. Even having 20-30 less than this will cause you many, many deaths... First, after few matches, I thought that I just suck and must get back to training. Then I've looked at damage, which I does to some players with Ace of Spades - 50 with head shot. 50! I thought - "hey, they could nerf this weapon", but then I saw my melee damage... There were some players which I cannot kill even with 3 melee hits o.O After all that, I tried some regular crucible modes and everything goes back to normal. Dear G... Traveler. Iron Banner from one of best, became the worst PVP mode I've ever played in this game. And I'm playing it from a more than year. Fix power/light scaling or write that it is activity only on 950 power/light rank.

I just used whatever random legendaries I had on me that were higher level. It was a bad idea. Hehe two shots from a badlander didn't kill somebody.

IB is supposed to be an endgame activity like Raid, NF, etc and that's why you're getting pinnacle gear from it. So if you're not appropriate light level don't expect to do as well as you do in normal crucible. Instead of blaming others just improve your light level or else be really sweaty. There are plenty of ways to boost light level.

entitled much?

I started at 934.. did all my bounties and quests.. not 1 issue. When underpowered you need to play smarter.. not like you would in normal Crucible.. It's End Game PvP and plays like it.
-
I went in at 931 and had no issues. Only a handful of games where I had to three melee someone. Your best option is to change your loadout and gameplay. I’m the hated Blink - Slide - Mindbenders / Transversive user but it’s been extra effective lately because people are trying to head on rush the recluse. Mix it up, man.

I like how power level is the problem. Not the 10 minute mm and only 3 garbage maps
-
There are other pvp options available to you. IB hasn't been worth the hassle since d1
-
hold hands with someone until you get higher in lite, or level up with other stuff first then go in
-
It's meant to be end game content. It should be difficult. Just stick it out and get your rewards. You'll level up faster and soon you'll be the one wrecking. It's how it always has been and how it will forseeably continue. 🤷♂️

End Game/Pinnacle content....

Light level advantages should be severe and should be in IB like they always were in D1
-
Lol I’m loving bagging all u low lights
-
It was much worse during D1.
-
Good. I am hoping to be able to finally complete my GL multi-kills for MT on you low level plebs.
-
I made a post addressing this issue right after shadowkeep launched and it never gained any traction so oh well.
-
I'm low level 900s... I guess I'll just fire aimlessly, hope I hit some opponents, and collect the assists.
-
Your points are valid and practical but Bungie thinks it's fun so it likely won't change. A tiered system makes sense though.
-
The armor looks like crap and the weapons haven’t changed. I’m actually relieved that I have no incentive to play IB.
-
keep leveling up your equipment even its 2-3 light levels it all helps.
