Bongo should at the very least release a comprehensive list of software known to trigger false positives if their policy is to religiously trust and enforce their automated anti cheat measures. So many innocent or unrelated things could inadvertently trip the anti cheat detection, while some of them are known and whitelisted (discord or rivatuner trying to hook for their overlays etc.), there are certainly so many that aren't. Heck, didn't even shadowplay trigger false positives on pc launch?

 •
automated anti cheat measures
They are not automated. Bans are manually placed.
Heck, didn't even shadowplay trigger false positives on pc launch?
Only 4 bans were overturned at launch and they were due to being incorrectly carried over from beta. •
They are not automated. Bans are manually placed.
Fair enough, but detection and flagging is still automated. And for a small indie game company i've little confidence in bongo being too good at filtering out false positives and the recurring reports for false bannings seem to support that.
Only 4 bans were overturned at launch and they were due to being incorrectly carried over from beta.
First party information in conflict with third party reports. Regardless, we're still getting reports of being inexplicably banned so something's clearly not quite right with their anti cheat detection (and frankly i'm a bit concerned of inadvertently tripping it myself).

I have seen players claim it was a "random" ban or that they have not done anything wrong and then BNGSecurity reply with they were using a well known cheat meant for D2. So, I take the claims from sources other then the official source with a grain of salt.

So, I take the claims from sources other then the official source with a grain of salt.
And bongo has appearances to keep. Call me cynical, but after all the stunts bongo pulled in year 1 of D2 i'll be taking everything they say with a pretty substantial grain of salt. That is not to say that some, or likely most of "why was i banned i did nuffn" really didn't do anything, but even if a fraction of those reports are truly innocent bans, there is a problem. If such a problem exists because of flawed anti cheat detection and bongo refuses to lift false bans, or even re-examine the case... well i need not to explain that it is a pretty shitty situation.

 • If you are concerned, just put Destiny 2 on it's own computer or boot drive.
