What is your R7800 router plugged into? Modem or Gateway? If you’re not sure, post the model and manufacturer.

Honestly not sure. I live in an apartment complex and it's just plugged into the wall that leads to our attic that I cant access.
-
Can you plug directly into the wall as a troubleshooting step?
-
Okay sorry for the hiatus had family things going on. I have plugged my pc directly into the wall but I dont get any internet I have to stay connected to my router
-
You may need to re-boot your PC. If you have set a static IP, you may need to switch back to “Allow windows to configure automatically” (DHCP).

I set a static for it just to see if it would help and i got kicked out of my first strike :( I'm losing my marbles
I set a static for it just to see if it would help and i got kicked out of my first strike :( I'm losing my marbles
Well, thats not really what I was suggesting, but at least we know that doesn’t work. Were you connected to the router or plugger into the wall ethernet jack?
-
Plugged into router when I plug into the wall I do not get internet access

Since we can’t even determine if it’s a network switch, router, or modem that provides your internet access, I think you’ll need to have your ISP send a tech out to check and configure everything properly. Before doing that, I’d test that you can play without issue over a cellular hotspot (if that’s an option for you). If so, we know the issue isn’t your PC, and either the router or the ISP.

So I've fixed the problem temporarily. It was with my dynamic ip with my isp. Only problem is is I have to pay $10 extra a month to keep it going which is horseshit. Might aswell go play wow if ima have to pay basically a subscription. Hopefully when it jumps platforms I womt have that problem but I highly doubt it.

Sounds like they (ISP) were probably splitting a single connection between the different apartments in your building. It’s a way to keep rates low, but can cause NAT issues. Usually their IT department can remote access their router and open ports to your router. Paying extra for your own unshared public IP address would also work, but at extra cost.
-
Well my isp with my isp I have to pay for a static ip so mine is dynamic
-
Not your public IP. Your network IP. Normally your router automatically assigns an IP to each connected device. This IP address can change. Setting a static IP for your device can be helpful to ensure ports saved in your router will be forwarded to the correct device.
