Factions were executed stupidly.
The idea insulates a competitive event between players/teams. That completely goes out the window because even the losing two teams are allowed to get the winning prize.
It should be:
>one pledge to a faction per account
>winning faction is the only faction that gets the prize.
Period, end of story, no exceptions.
This participation trophy mentality is bs. If your faction lost, boo hoo. Get over it. Better luck next time.

Not even that, the faction that had the better weapon won everytime. Its not competition when you get to hop from faction to faction depending on what they have for an award.
-
Truth. The game needs to be more like that.

Well, no that's ridiculous. You talk about participation trophies but there's no need for personal investment or even any actual involvement at all other than pledging. Using your idea of participation trophy, I'll work the odds and pledge to dead orbit because they won the most and not log in again until the end of the faction rallies and claimy weapon. Definition of participation trophy.
>one pledge to a faction per account
No. Three characters, three factions. It should always have been a character choice like the first 4 faction rallies, not account based like the last 4. Just like the Aunor/Drifter Allegiance quest; chose Vanguard on 2, Drifter on the 3rd. Shouldn't get locked out of content. If anything should be account based it should be Exotic weapon quests. I got Whisper/Outbreak on one character, don't need to do it on the other two; when I transfer the gun to them the quest should disappear.

Or just make it like D1 when people actually enjoyed factions...
-
No, this is just insulting to player time investment.

Then what is the incentive for participating if your faction never wins anyways? If the faction you are bound to doesn't get a good item, why would I bother grinding for it? People would just get frustrated and stop trying after a while, and then you would be complaining about that. Some people are never happy.
