•
The tryhards don't want to lose their farming grounds.
You have your options if matching the "tryhards" is too much for you. 3 different playlists all have full sbmm and comp has ranked based mm - a form of sbmm. LOL if you think all of pvp will or should cater to the bottom half
SBMM needs to come back for the good of the game.
Sbmm nearly killed this game back in Y1 D2. Its removal brought back 600K players and saved it, sbmm is one of the most unpopular things ever introduced where weaker players get rewarded and protected by virtue of being inept. Ridiculous concept. Throughout destinys history you clearly see that this community hates sbmm - D1 Y2 rebellion till bungie removed it, how popular warmind became once bungie accidentally broke it when they went to 6vs6 and the requests to leave it as such that were so popular.

  • I remember back in D1 though, maybe ttk or a little before, the community did cry out for SBMM to be implemented. DeeJ posted I think on Twitter that said, "be careful what you wish for". The community cried more and it was implemented. The next few months were pure hell if I remember correctly. Red bar warriors, lag, bungie adjusting the green to red bars on the screen to show mostly green. It wasn't a fun time.

  • Bungie sneakily implemented it, game went to the garbage and the community went full rebellion until it was dropped and games returned to normalcy.

Not what happened. Bungie removed it the final 3 months of D1 and DeeJ posted "be careful what you wish for" to the players asking for it to be removed. The developers understand that skill factoring benefits the majority of the community, but there's also a huge amount of pressure on them to keep the high profile influencers happy. They didn't want to release year 2 without sbmm, but the flooding of social media by virtually all the big names begging them to leave it off made them acquiesce. Edit: also you're right on one count; the games were hot garbage those final 3 months, but it was after skill was removed.

The masses through a fit that Bungie snuck in SBMM and those same masses Hated it. And what really happened during RoI was the playerbase went up after they turned of SBMM. Only potatoes wish for SBMM because they don’t have to improve playing other trash cans.

  • No, what happened was Triplewreck made a post blaming sbmm for all Destiny's faults and the forums got spammed by endless phony accounts, just like they did with Eververse before Bungie made it where players had to actually play the game to post. I stated exactly how mm worked in a post on the forums then and had it confirmed in a reply by DeeJ. You're not going to rewrite history in this thread.

Was there or was there not SBMM the final 3 months of D1?
