Hey all,
Yesterday, we announced the goal of removing time pressure associated with Glory ranks, and that Pinnacle Crucible rewards will be awarded via quests starting in Season 4.
Redrix’s Claymore will remain exclusive to Season 3. The Redrix’s Broadsword will be available through a pinnacle weapon questline in Season 4 offered by Lord Shaxx. To set expectations, here are the quest steps that must be completed in order to acquire Redrix’s Broadsword:

Holy crap that's a lot. I take back what I said about the weapons quest.

Modifié par ragectl : 8/18/2018 2:37:20 AMThis is fine as long as the five Valor rank resets count all resets you have gained prior to reaching that step. Nobody wants to grind five resets starting once you reach a single step - that would be closer to six total resets in a season
-
I'm really don't give much of a damn about PvP but 5 resets? I hope for PvP players that any resets they do before that step count towards it because that would be a pain in the ass otherwise.
-
Not complaining, I love grinds and having something to chase. AND being an almost strictly pulse rifle user (almost 88,000) kills with nightshade) and lover I find this somewhat disheartening. I want this shiny trophy, I hunger for it but pvp is just something that doesn't tick with me. Sure, it's fun with my buds but I still don't enjoy it. Looks like I will just have to buckle down and get a LOT of work done.
-
Modifié par CatMan : 8/18/2018 2:15:54 AMWait do have to do this in any particular order( I know the answer to the stupid question but I must ask) or is it a checklist I can mark off? Edit: it literally saids steps in the post....siiiiigh....guess I'll take my ass beating for that weapon. Edit: I need to know more about step 8!!! When I hit max rank before it will it count towards step 8?
-
You can't compare these trivial tasks to what it took to get the Claymore.
-
Reset rank 5 times? No thanks, I'll pass. Everyone else good luck with that nonsense. That and PvP isnt my bag. Hope we have a weapon or similar task for PvE.
-
Modifié par Redstag Rambo : 8/18/2018 2:36:13 AMWow, really? Well there goes 1 weapon that I’ll never get. Edit: Oops misread, thought it was Glory, not Valor. Still though, roll over 5 times, not unless there’s frequent 2x or 3x weekends will that occur. It took me 3 months just to do it twice.
-
Those matches should say wins not just complete.
-
Modifié par SergeantCubby : 8/18/2018 2:10:33 AMdmg04 What if you reset your valor or do any of the quest step goals before achieving them such as valor resets, precision final blows with Pulse Rifles, arc solar and void ability/super kills, etc. Will it count towards future steps?
-
Im not the best pvp'er (closer to the worst) but its great to see its not just relegated to the comp play list and is obtainable by anyone that wants it, not just the hardcore.
-
5 Valour resets. That’s some crazy poop. Hopefully there will be some 2X/3x Valour weekends to help offset this. I’m about to reset for a 3rd time in season 3 and can’t imagine having to have done it two more times. Attainable? Yes. The grind is very real.
-
I was cool with it until I found out that the resets have to be done at step 8. It CLEARLY says reset 5x DURING THE SEASON, and I’m pretty sure we’ll reset 2-3 during the quest, WHICH IS DURING THE SEASON, so idk why those won’t count But this is bungie...idiots
-
Wow that's way too much
-
so what steps do i need to do to get my broadsword because i already have the claymore.
-
So, Graviton going to be the meta for awhile huh? Not too bad otherwise. 5 Valor resets is a lot of Crucible, but all in all, you may have succeeded in making me play it. I might even get good....
-
I apologise if someone already asked this, but is step 8 cumulative or do the entire 5 resets need to happen once step 7 is complete?
-
Modifié par Combo164 : 8/18/2018 1:58:46 AMReset 5 times. Holy hell. Well cant complain since its a quest. My only hope is i hope resets before the specific quest step is acquired counts.
-
Is there a chance for bigger maps? 6vs6 on blackout isn‘t funny. Another humble request to the bungie employees. I played a lot of pvp matches, lost more than normal with this current matchmaking, but if I win a match with a team, none of them (including my humble self) got a catalyst. I am slowly losing hope for the vigilance wing catalyst and in cruicible. That isn’t your purpose or from destiny 2. I think the drop rate is too low. Could you make a higher drop rate? I‘m honest. I quit every 5-30 match. My team too. I think that is the problem. You get nothing if you lose. Why should I play this one side match till the end? I abhor cruicible more and more. Is there a chance for a change?

Okay, I'll admit that this calms (most) of my rage. When Bungie told us that a simple quest would offer the Broadsword, I was terrified that it would be quick and easy, like most questlines in this game. I thought it was going to amount to mindlessly shooting some enemies for an hour or two. I'm happy that the quest is not something you grind for, rather something you do over a span of time. If this quest doesn't take people at least a month, then giving us the Broadsword first is trivial. Ultimately, this is a decent response to the controversy. Decent. I still think that the Claymore itself should move to year two, accepting random rolls and the new mods. The Broadsword shouldn't be better than my Claymore; I shouldn't be forced to use the Broadsword because, ultimately, I want to use the weapon I fought tooth and claw for, not some copy of it. I want to use the gun I have two thousand enemies defeated with, not its clone. Maybe it should have a Destiny 1 reforge system (obviously keeping Desperado and Outlaw) so that I can have the Broadsword experience on my exclusive weapon. Hell, perhaps the Claymore should even have an extra perk like Destiny 1's Adept weapons from trials (such as Snapshot). It would make the Claymore ever so slightly better than the best Broadsword, which would at least justify the time I spent grinding for it. The only potential issue I see is the general response to needing five valor resets. I personally believe it's okay considering, again, the Broadsword isn't something you grind for. It's a weapon for the people who love to play crucible, and that's the way it should be. Anyway, those are just my thoughts. I hope anyone reading this has a phenomenal day.

Do we know how long Season 4 will be?
-
this is not even close to how terrible the grind was running comp in season 3. this is a slap to people that commited to the hardest grind, and terrible state of d2 pvp, error codes, ddos, against account recoveries..... no " pinnacle quest " is remotely close to that. Keep this game casual, bc clearly it worked for destiny 2 year 1. /s
-
As expected, going to be a long ass grind for people to get the new season weapon but it won't stop some of the Claymore owners from their whining even though they get to avoid this new grind to get the new seasonal reward. Pretty sad.
-
Are these quest steps completed concurrently or sequentially? If sequentially, this is going to take a long time.
-
Gonna be honest, I would rather grind through comp till Fabled than do all this. Especially the 5 Valor resets. Wow.
-
5 times? Holy crap
