If it's not on any of your other character. Then sadly it's gone for good and have to get a new one.
So far over the past weeks I have seen to many posts of people losing item via using vault to transfer and so I have stopped do it all together. Also don't store many valuables in vault. With all the issues with it.

My whole freaking set of Hunter lvl 32 gear dissapeared from vault. I didn't play for two weeks, logged in today, checked the vault and it's gone. Have been playing since day one. I guess this is the time to quit
