The Ulysses Disaster - Ace Combat Infinity Trailer

That day our sky fe||, the heavens split to create new skies. New Ace Combat Infinity trailer from the Tokyo Game Show! :D More information on the lore and story. A lot of elements from the Ace Combat Strangereal world lore have been retconned into a real world setting. The most prominent being the Ulysses asteroid incident:
In an alternate 1994, a group of asteroids flying through the solar system towards the Sun at an elliptical orbit, collectively named the 1986VGI Ulysses Asteroids, was discovered to be approaching the Earth on a head-on collision. 10,000 meteors were estimated to strike the surface. With no method to change the orbit of all of the meteors, the world's nations banded together to create the Stonehenge Turret Network, a network of eight railguns that would fire at the meteors to prevent as much damage to the planet as possible. Unfortunately, in July 1999, the asteroids crashed into the Earth regardless, causing a devastating loss of life and destroying 20% of its surface. Immediately after what was later known as the Ulysses Disaster, the world's governments crumbled.
We can clearly see that the Stonehenge turret system from Ace Combat 4 will be a big part of the story. The CFA-44 Nosferatu (or 'Fandance' in the real world setting) from Ace Combat 6 has returned as a Russian plane. Also, the Estovokian Aerial Fleet from Ace Combat 6 can be seen, although the carrier craft, the Aigaion, is now called Moby Dick. The player takes the role of Bone Arrow 4 of Bone Arrow squad, a mercenary squadron owned and operated by Arrows Air Defense and Security (a private military organization, not much is known about them as of now), hired by the United Nations Forces (UNF. Possibly a reformed United Nations military force after the Ulysses incident). Bone Arrow squad:
Bone Arrow 1- Callsign Viper. The squadron's leader, it is evident that he is a veteran mercenary who has a reputation among the enemy that Bone Arrow faces. Bone Arrow 2- Callsign Omega. Country of origin is possibly the United Kingdom, as evidenced by his accent. Bone Arrow 3- Callsign Bronco. Not much known for now. Bone Arrow 4- Callsign unknown. The player character, he flies with a reaper emblem on his aircraft, prompting some less than flattering remarks from his wingmen.
Another featured squadron in the trailer is Ridgeback squad of the UNF, who operate the fictional F-3 Shinden II aircraft (the black aircraft with the white stripe and forward-swept wings). A member can be heard with callsign "Edge" (Kei Nagase anyone? ;) There is also a plane with callsign "Slash". This may be a nod to Ace Combat 2's Slash, a wingman to the player. The other two pilots are callsigns "Fencer" and "Axeman". The confirmed opposition is currently unknown, but if you pause the video at the UN notification, there is a mention of the "Sons of Troia". And at the upper left you can see the label 'Identified as Terrorist'. So, we may have found our enemy. It looks like a promising Ace Combat game, especially after the meh spinoff that was Assault Horizon. Available for Playstation 3 FOR FREE! Releases Fall 2013.
