If you're determined to continue on this road, you're gonna need to get a new mic. The distortion issue is probably apparent... and regardless of what you're implying, the book comment wasn't needed/simply wasn't executed well.

Yeah, I sorta secreted that from the hole in my head... I am looking for a new mic and cover as we speak. If it is not here for the next time, I will improvise with moving the mic further away.
