PC crashing and freezing, multiple reports throughout the last year, zero acknowledgement.

I myself and a ton of other people have made various posts on various forums for the last year, about the game either freezing up and having to be force closed through the taskmanager, or the game just freezing up for a second and then closing without error. This can happen multiple times a day, in Orbit, in my inventory, in cutscenes, during combat. No rhyme or reason, it just goes pop. It has not been acknowledged once. I won't go through the effort of linking dozens of posts, I will simply link my own post from Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTechSupport/comments/11mzg3u/frequent_freezing_andor_crashing_seemingly_out_of/ It has all the necessary information of my PC components and the steps I've tried to solve this issue. The issue only appears in Destiny, every other game runs fine. From my research online, it seems like it mostly affects AMD Ryzen builds. BIOS is fully up to date, so is every driver. This might only affect a fairly small amount of players, but being completely ignored, when it is clearly happening to multiple people in the exact same manner, feels disrespectful. Literally just google around for the symptoms I described. Ignore all the useless generic articles and look for the forum posts. There are dozens of people from throughout the last year.

  • Have you resolved it? I have exact same issue. Until Plunder it was fine, issues began when i came back in Seraph. I also upgraded my PC during that break. Im currently on i7 13700K and 32gb DDR5 swapping GPUs from 3080 to 4070Ti did nothing, swapping drivers did nothing, swapping power supply did nothing, changing motherboard's bios versions did nothing, changing ram settings etc did nothing. Only this game is crashing like mad for me, i can play other games for hours without breaking a sweat. I have no clue what i can try anymore. Issue seems not widespread on PC, i only see PS5 players complaining about crashes. In some instances they are more common than in others. For example i cant even finish Lost Sector on Neomuna without a crash, it crashes so often there its unplayable.

  • The same thing has been happening to me for several months now. It started out happening randomly but for the past month or so If I don't restart my game every 4-5 hours it will absolutely hard freeze every single time. Ryzen 9 5900x 32gb DDR4 3200 RTX 3080

  • I have had this exact problem after coming back to D2. Firstly in cutscenes, then in at the Tower, then in the Kingsfall raid, then yesterday in the Neomunda vex event, then earlier today in PvP. Just playing, then a freeze for about 2 seconds, then just 'blip' gone and I'm staring at my desktop. Event Viewer recorded nothing I could find, drivers are up to date, antivirus has it excluded, Steam integrity is fine and I cannot locate any problems with it. My specs are AMD Radeon RX6800 XT, Corsair 32Gb, i7 12700K Processor. What's more I have my framerate capped at 60 after the second crash and this still continued. From looking around it seems that this is uncommon but incredibly baffling and I just want some attention drawn to this because I am completely nonplussed as to why this happens.

I was about to make a post about how I FIXED this issue for me, then i saw your post - my game would freeze / hang / crash if i played for abour 6 hours-ish, without fail, EVERYTIME! I tried multiple MBs, CPUs, GPUs, RAM tons of fresh installs on windows 10 and 11, new drivers , old drivers etc etc.... i was testing on high end gear, intel 12 and 13 gen 900k CPUs - a Ryzen 9 as well - 3080 and 4090 GPU - gigabyte - MSI motherbaord ..... nothing worked... except an older 2080 card i had, never crashed - 14 hours no problem - SO THEN i put all my original parts back together when it would act up -intel i9 12900k CPU, 3080 GPU, MSI motherboard, 64 Gb 4000 mhz RAM and i started capping my frame rates - BOOM!!!! 110 frame rate cap and it ran another 14 hours without a crash - i tried 90 frames first but it just was too jerky for me to play....i bumped it to 120 and it crashed.... BUT 110 still looks good to me and no crashing... try it - hope that helps

+1. Same issue. A mod asked for my dxdiag report but didnt follow up. Ive been facing this issue since WQ launched. I own all dlcs before, so cant play anything and am kinda bummed out about it. I love the game but its a shame that they dont acknowledge this issue. Steam forums have also a lot of such posts. Ive tried everything i could think of. Oh well.
