Weasel error code only while on ethernet, never on wifi

I've been receiving a weasel code whenever I try to play while connected to ethernet (on Steam btw) and it never happens to me while playing on wifi. It normally takes about an hour for it to happen, but sometimes it'll happen in just a couple of minutes from signing in. The strange part is that I will get the "contacting servers" message in the bottom right of the screen, but the game will continue running fine (shots register and players move without rubberbanding or anything). The message will go away, and then the message shows up again 15-30 seconds later and kicks me to the title screen with a weasel code. Ethernet works fine in every other regard on my computer and I don't even experience an issue when it effects Destiny either aside from it kicking me after these messages. I've tried using default DNS settings, Google DNS settings, and Cloudflare DNS settings for my ethernet adapter and the issue is the same in each case (cleared my DNS resolver cache each time I switched). Wouldn't think it's a hardware issue as I just moved into a new house recently and everything is only a month old (router, ethernet cable, even the fiber) and, like I said before, I don't have any issues with ethernet outside of Destiny. I tried port forwarding UDP 3074 and 3097, but from what I read it doesn't sound like port forwarding would help anyway. The only solution I have found is to play on wifi (uses Google DNS), where the game works perfectly fine, but it is a just a small hassle to have to unplug from ethernet just to play Destiny and then plug it back in so that my speeds for other things is better. Anyone have any experience with this issue? I haven't been able to find too much info on what would be causing this.

  • Yep. Sorry to say. So, I am sad / glad to find out that I am not a lone Guardian! (I am looking at 3 other posts) Yes! I have done "all the above" in your list, several times, and I am still having issues resolving the Teredo server. D2 only as far as I can tell. I have not tried the Google or Cloudflair servers. My xBox NAT test shows Open. IPv4 and IPv6. Wired. 99 Mbps Down, 8.91 Mbps Up, 69ms Latency and Packet loss = 100%! What? 100% Packet loss. So how can I still be playing D2? I don't dare attempt to join a fireteam! So, I am going to test out my WiFi connection and see what up. Thanks for the info. I am running out of ideas!

  • Really weird problem; tried resetting (not just rebooting) your modem/router?
