Battle Eye - Query Timeout - Error Plum

I'm so at a loss as to why every once in awhile Destiny works fine without any issues, then Battle Eye comes back up with errors of "Query Timeout" and I get error code Plum from Bungie while playing. Initially I was getting the error because Norton Security was blocking BEService_d2 on my firewall. After allowing that through it was no longer a problem for a few months. The next time I got the error I added the Battle Eye and Destiny 2 folders on the Norton Scan Exclusion listing, and that resolved it for a time. Now I'm getting the error again and I've no clue why. Windows isn't pending any updates, no changes have been made to my computer Security, and the only error I have to go on with Battle Eye is this darn "Query Timeout" Does anybody know what could be causing this cause I'm at a loss. (Yes, I'm aware Plum tends to be more associated with cheating software among players and I can see the troll comments already calling me a cheater, but this is not the case. I do not and have never ran any cheating software on my PC. I'm hardly ever even in PvP so why would I run anything like that.)

  • I'm also having this issue, and it seems to be sporadic when it does happen. That it seems to be happening because of antivirus software is, well terrible. I will say strangely, I haven't had it crop up while I've been in PvP very reluctantly to work on a bow catyalist. It's mostly been while in vanguard playlists or the tower either solo or with friends.

Bungie, seriously this is a problem. From the last week of season 18; I've experienced numerous ***Battleye Query Timeouts*** and the only solution that lets me have a decent gaming session is a soft boot of my PC. I only figured out today 06/01/2023 (dd/mm/yyyy) that my virus protection was the culprit; really Bungie, that wasn't listed anywhere on your website or on Battleye's website nor was there any permanent way to resolve our issue. Like the posts' original creator (DJRUM08), I've not used any cheat software or hardware, and getting kicked off for having protected our computers the best we can is unacceptable. Please look into this as I'm sure there are others who have either left the game for this reason or have had to downgrade the level of protection they've already paid for on their PCs.
