A Rant from a Couple

Some background: My wife and I came into Destiny about two months before The Taken King, stuck around until after Age of Triumph. We left the game because two people, playing together without others, can only get so far before the reality of how the game is made comes into play. There is a line in Destiny that didn't allow further progression without a complete team. Cut to December 2021, and my wife and I have gotten back into Destiny (2). Again, the problem rears it's ugly head. There is only so far we can go without a team. We attempted to bring other players into our little clan, but those players, to the last man, left the game within weeks of meeting them. Now we are trying to get some end game content done (1330 and 1340 light, respectively). Without changing our playstyle, or preferred loadouts, this is like smashing our collective heads against a brick wall. We are wanting to get into the next DLC, already pre-ordered it, as a matter of fact. I thought of finding a kicked back clan to join, but our tolerance for the sweaty, try hard type of players makes finding a good fit makes this a series of trial and error that she really doesn't have time for. She is a military member and her life is a series of PT, work, and exhaustion most days. I play daily, but she usually only gets to play until the weekends. This limits her ability to get gametime, so getting into pick up runs leaves her lost on what to do, which causes try-hards to just leave the group, making her feel bad for even trying. For me, the guilt that comes with trying to do stuff with a pick up group while my wife is left out isn't worth moving forward without her. I play the game to have fun, and if I feel like crap for running a dungeon without my spouse, as the whole reason I play the game is so we can play together, then I really am not having fun. We need to find an active, adult clan that we can play with, but the sheer number of clans makes finding one just short of unfeasible. (Players who are in clans like this can drop your clan i.d. below) All of that out of the way, why didn't Bungie make dungeons scalable? Nevermind the raids, they are for 6 man groups, but scalable dungeons would have been the perfect transition point for strikes/nightfalls and raids. As it is, we are considering getting a refund for TWQ, and finding a new game.
