There is so much loot in this game it has rendered loot meaningless. I remember when an exotic would drop the feeling of elation and wonder. Now it’s just another thing I’ll either dismantle or cram in my vault and forget I have. Not sure you can put the toothpaste back in the tube but making loot rare is what makes it valuable.

basically, the exotics are just infusion material. The issue I was trying to bring is that the loot pool of all the activities is being overly saturated by the world loot pool. So if you were hunting for a specific weapon from that activity, you would have and will have a much harder time trying to get it, as it is being diluted to the point that you will no longer have a patch to get it.

I agree, to a degree. Exotics def drop far too often in this game, and it does bring down the excitement. However, I remember how hard it was to get certain exotics in D1, and how much rng was involved. It could be insanely annoying. I would like a happy middle ground in D2 tho.
