Seriously, Tarrabah has the potential to be an amazing to use and worthwhile Exotic, but the fact that it doesn't hold charge towards the perk when you swap weapons makes it borderline worthless when the content in the game is requiring us to swap weapons nonstop to deal with Champions or other situations that arise. Current example, I was doing Master Empire Hunts for the pinnacle drop. Champions present; Overload and Barrier. I have Anti Barrier Sniper and Overload SMG. Modifiers Active; Hot Knife (Shanks have solar shields), and Match Game (Need to match shield element to effectively break them). Tarrabah is one of the only Solar SMG's that I have, and with the sheer number of shanks present in the mission, it would be inefficient to use a Solar Sniper with a Kinetic SMG to deal with them. The number of Barrier champions present in the mission meant that I hardly ever got to use the Ravenous Beast perk because I had to keep swapping to my sniper to down the Barrier Champions effectively.

If it’s a problem to stow the charge in pvp, then make it only allow to store its charge in pve. No one is going to waste raid spoils on tarrabah. And I’ve been waiting for terrabah to get a catalyst forever. Make it track my damn kills so I can use it again.

Tarrabah is absolutely dangerous in PvP any little change to that thing will break it, I would like a catalyst to increase its mag size or maybe give it overflow or something like that

But here’s the thing. It’s literally one meaningful buff away to be borderline broken or stay in obscurity forever. The only buff that I can suggest is to add significantly more gains to Ravenous Beast. It takes 50 bullets to get the perk in PvE while in PvP it takes 20. It should be 20 bullets for the perk universally. It would allow me to literally spam Tarrabah over and over. And the gun is one of the best primaries in the game when the perk is up. If I cant stow the gun to use other weapons, I should at least be able to spam the perk non-stop and have 100% uptime. Also a change to the reload like Hard Light would be great.

Another sad post about the most forgotten about exotic in the game ,that may have good intentions,but will also fade into oblivion with all the others -
Any buff to up time will be countered with a nerf to damage output. It's almost too good when the beast is unleashed. Make beast mode anti all champions.

I’m never one of those people that claim something is okay when it really isn’t, but Tarrabah isn’t actually that bad. I think it’s in a decent spot. Maybe give it anti barrier rounds intrinsically

Just give it feeding frenzy and msdyer of arms and make it the new recluse. Then add catalyst that gives it ravenous beast

The sad truth is, it's just a well rolled SMG until you activate its perk. So for about 80% of the time your just using a regular smg. The saddest truth is that the ikelos smg has better stats and with warmind cells offers better usability. Personally I think they should either add a passive charging rate to ravenous beast or cut it in half. Also you should gain a 15% damage reduction while ravenous beast is active, since this exotic requires you to play aggressively.

The funny thing is that frenzy does a lot of the same things Ravenous does minute the rate of fire increase. It's kinda one of those where is rather have that damage increase and handling as long as I'm in combat than use an exotic slot for a perk that's rarely active.

They should make it so that you can store the perk and when pulling the weapon out/reloading while critical, you release a close range blast while proving the perk.

Agreed. It should hold the charge and changing to Ravenous Beast should swap fast like Hard Light or Borealis. A full reload is uncalled for.

I agree. I was using Tarrabah to its fullest potential in Gambit where the perk has a CHANCE to try and work and it still felt underwhelming. For a raid exotic, that's inexcusable. At least give it a badass catalyst.

Hint hint, nudge nudge. Solar smg, red mamba... Can roll with great perks. Or just use anti barrier sniper and use borialis... Works wonders. But I do agree tarbarah is kinda useless right now

the issue is pvp. they have a hard time separating it even when they claim they can. example shatter dive. its suppose to not be subject to a damage fall off radius and stay constant in pve. but..... Im sure they could put in the extra effort to make sure its code does stay separate between the two environments but the question is if said work bungie deems of value.

A good rework to Ravenous I think would be changing out the slowing of the timer based upon you doing damage for firing from reserves for a fixed amount of time. The you take out this weird game of accuracy when you really should just be going full gun--blam!-. Would be more effective in crowds.

Tarrabah has so much potential but bungie is for some reason afraid of removing the "perk go bye-bye after swap" part of the gun even though they have stuff like dead mans, bastion, and stasis in the game to keep everything else oppressed. They could just have the perk start melting away slowly after swapping instead, and it would be perfect.

I've always thought it should decay over time when swapped that way it gets a huge buff in pve and hopefully not break pvp
