[spoiler]I'm sunsetting the Knightlight and Eramis stuff for now. He's going on new adventures.[/spoiler] Characters -Aprico is Knightlight's ghost -Knightlight is a guardian -Eramis is the villian in Beyond Light -Alberiks is a fallen Baron who challenged Eramis in combat but now serves her. The Crossroads [i]The location is a fallen camp far from the cosmodrome wall. Earlier stories give more context. Eramis is the kell, Alberiks is the archon. [/i] Knightlight is sleeping. Everything is going normal. He dreams about a timeline where humanity and a timeline where they triumph over the darkness and reclaim the solar system. The dream then transitions to Knightlight as a guardian, looking at the children play in the streets. One of them accidentally drops a ball and it rolls to Knightlights feet. The child runs to retrieve it, but looks up towards Knightlight with a look of awe. Knightlight smiles as the kid runs off to play. As the kid throws the ball a withering blade peirces his chest, he looks down then up again and collaspes. Knightlight looks to where the blade came from, a large shadow shows itself, it's Eramis. As Knightlight looks at her the city is now in flames, screaming is heard all around. The child who was struck looks up at Knightlight and states calmly "Where were you to protect us." And "Why did you abandon us." The child fades away and Knightlight looks up to see an army of fallen standing before him and pyramids filling the sky.  Eramis's eyes are now all black. She states, "Don't you see? In light there is only weakness. Only failure. Only death. Where the light takes, the dark gives. Use our gifts to protect and avenge those you hold dear. In dark there is life. And Salvation." Eramis smiles and Knightlight's hands start to become covered in stasis, then his legs and his chest. Knightlight wakes up in his sleeping bag in a cold sweat. He looks around to find he's at the same camp. Eramis is sleeping on the couch and Alberiks is sleeping in the room across. Aprico rushes to his side and ask if he's okay. Knightlight states he is okay and they he plans to go outside. He passes two vandals guarding the main tent. Knightlight nods at them as he walks by. He walks by another vandal and a pike dreg at the outskirts of the camp. The dreg comments, "A midnight walk, I like the calm silence of it." Knightlight walks up a hill 5 minutes away from the camp. He stares at the mountains on the horizon, they are illuminated by the moon. Knightlight closes his eyes and listens to the wind as it kisses his cheek. He never had much of an opportunity to appreciate nature, to nit be constantly bothered. He comments to himself about that being an upside to not sleeping. He closes his eyes but feels a presence. Like someone or something was looking. Was it an Acolyte looking to finish the job? Or was it the kid from his dreams, haunting him for his inevitable betrayal. As the figure gets closer Knightlight draws his Golden Gun and looks back. The figure yells "Don't shoot! It's me!". It's Eramis. Knightlight holsters his gun. Eramis ask what he's doing out at this hour. Knightlight states that he couldn't sleep and he decided to go on a walk. She puts her hand on his shoulder and tells him that she saw him wake up in a fright, and she wants to know what caused it. Knightlight states that is a story for another time, but Eramis insist on knowing. Knightlight sighs. "I saw a terrible vision. The City was in ruins and children were massacred on the street. And one of them looked me in the eyes. But the worse thing was seeing the one who killed that child." Eramis ask who did it. "Was it Drifter? Was it Zavala? The chicken cayde kept as a pet?" Knightlight starts to choke up, like a frog is in his throat or a energy is building up. Aprico starts to ask who it was. Both of them keep asking until Knightlight mutters. "It was you." A single tear slithers down Knightlight's face as he looks at Eramis. He continues, "You killed the child and many others and the darkness used your voice to communicate with me." He continues, "I was so scared of losing you again, it would be my fault if I let the dark corrupt you by using your anger against you. In that fear I was faced a choice, and...I chose the dark." Eramis looks at Knightlight and then looks out towards the moon. She sits down and just stares at the moon. She starts to speak, "You really think I would do that? Become some sort of mindless killer. I started to relearn some of my old tricks and I'm still not frozen so that's a good start." Knightlight comments, "you also got rid of that glove." Eramis chuckles and replies, "You think I was the Kell of gloves? That was only a device to channel stasis, not a source." Knightlight then brings up his dream. Eramis tells him they'll figure it out the next day. Knightlight is about to head back to the tent. But Eramis tells him to stay. She states that it's peaceful outside the camp. It was cold out so Eramis moved closer to Knightlight, he blushes and is nervous. Eramis grabs his arm and hugs him, do to her size it looked more like Eramis picking him up. They both fall on the ground and both of them laugh. Aprico transmats a sleeping bag for Knightlight and a blanket for Eramis. They fall asleep on the hill. The following morning they both wake up. They find 4 vandals surrounding them. Alberiks emerges. He was alarmed to not see them at the camp. Eramis calms him down. They head to camp to eat breakfast, chicken nuggies fried in cabal oil was on the menu. During breakfast Eramis and Knightlight talk about the dream. Eramis states that Knightlight should take a break for 1 month and explore like he used to. Knightlight ask if she's sure. Eramis holds his hand and nods her head. Alberiks then tells Knightlight that his army will protect her. Knightlight is all on board and Aprico is excited about exploring. Knightlight is about to depart. Aprico summoned his ship and everything is packed. Before he leaves, Eramis approaches. She rubs his head which is how eliksni show affection, Knightlight kisses her head peice. Followed by a big hug. Eramis states that she would kiss him but that it would be painful for him. Knightlight understands. Aprico seems rather excited, and starts humming. She almost jumps out of her shell. Knightlight ask what has her so excited. She states that she'll be able to stop writing all the stories about him and Eramis. Knightlight pauses and comments, "Wait, you've been writing stories about us?" Aprico responds, "Yes I have. I share them on an old vangaurd channel called Bungie.net. It was used as a gaming fourm for a game called Tiger. It was a animal game where you took care of a zoo, the main character was a tiger." She continues, "The fourm became a form of communication for guardians. The hardest part was writing in third person. Now I can write about all our new adventures!" Knightlight sighs. "I'm fine with it. Just don't get to crazy." Aprico leaps for joy! -Aprico, Knightlight's Ghost [spoiler]Tiger is referring to Project Tiger. The name bungie would use for destiny when it was being made. Big expansions were called comet.[/spoiler]
