How to properly sunset items.
I get that nobody likes it, and this time around was the worst ever. However, i feel there is a way to sunset without killing 80% of the game. These are just ideas i think may work. I do not support sunsetting at all, just to be clear. Imagine if borderlands incorporated sunsetting...
Every item that is sunset, a replacement brand new item is added to the game.
Add a item that can be bought with silver to unsunset a single piece of gear, yes this would lead the game down a slight "pay to win" road with trials and IB and everyone running god rolls.. But hey.. least bungie would be making money lol.
A mod to equip on a piece of gear to unsunset it.
Upon reaching lvl 100 of the season pass bar, gain ability to unsunset a single piece of gear.

Sure, the gear still exists in its original form but the level increase made the current build much less effective on the new level cap, especially on Mayhem 10. Anyway. Generally those are good ideas, but I feel like granting the ability to "un-sunset" just eliminates the entire point of sunsetting: that we use different guns once in a while. Everyone would just un-sunset their favourites and not give a care about any of the new stuff. So personally, I would leave that one out.
