This is scary. I cannot believe people are being banned for it, Bungie should have really updated their server setup not to mention figuring out which end the problem is on (ie people with top notch connections being told THEY have network issues) 😳
Bottom line is I'm getting zero issues in every other online game (and not one other device wired or otherwise) but somehow destiny is constantly telling me I have network problems.
Oh wow. After reading a different post on the issue it seems not only the above problem exists but also people are blaming those suffering poor connection - regardless of whose fault it is - people are being told they're ruining the game for other players. I can understand if someone is deliberately glitching their connection in PvP but most people are genuinely getting caught in a situation beyond their control.
Must be gutting to have invested time and money only to get banned - or banned AND blamed - for simply trying to play their game. 🙁

What they have done is bring their server problems to us. I played the 3 crucible games and the 3 Gambit games a week, and you can believe that no matter how many failures the connection may give, that is reason to affirm that you damage the game. Some say that causes you to have an advantage, but in my life, and I play since 2015, I have killed more than 3 Guardians in Crucible and I have been killed at least a dozen times. How can I then be a problem for the game if the connection with their servers turns me into a whole bait for the others who make at least between 15 and 20 points. Then they flip the approach and tell you that you are a problem for your team; but they never seem to see the final score when you are at the bottom of the list with 2 or 3 and the rest of your team with 18, 15, 13 and 8. The problem is Bungie and its anachronistic policy that rewards players who use tricks or tricks and punish the player, without bothering to report in detail or analyze the situation beforehand.

I mean borderlands 3 - huuuuge game, millions of guns, large areas and vaults, complex characters and online multiplayer etc etc and I've never been booted and even if I was, it all runs OK offline too. Would be cool to get to the point where destiny 2 can achieve something similar. No snarkiness there, I genuinely would be chuffed with that scenario. 🤞

I mean I guess dedicated servers would be too much to ask? Idk, I just know when I played the division I never got lagged out. Does the Division do p2p also?

Not played division enough to know sorry, I used bl3 as an example just because I was about to switch over to that game while D2 was exp... or rather while I was experiencing connection issues. 😳

Right I just don’t see how you blame the player when you try to get as many players to join the game as possible. Y’know since more players means more expansions sold but then again I guess once they have our $40-$70 it doesn’t matter what the player things anymore

I paid for the expansion and previous dlc and now it looks alarmingly like I could be booted off and/or banned from the game based on my connection stability and perhaps also apparently ruin the game for others. Considering the cost and time investment 'disappointed' would be a vastly inadequate term.

I feel you, I think I’ve put in at least 1000 hours and I’m trying to help guide people through the raid but quick play let’s me kill time when i can’t do stuff like that, and getting banned cuz I’m lagging in quickplay is kinda laughable to be honest. I mean hell I can barely work a microwave. Do they honestly think I can manipulate the internet?
