they do something else to make you want to buy more content:
Nerf the Exotics of the previous season, while making the Exotics of the current season op. That isn't an accident it's intentional, to increase purchases.

They haven’t really shown some consistent habit of nerfing old exotics/making new ones OP. In fact, that’s not really how it has gone at all.

Yeah but all these exotics are technically from even older seasons, 4 of them are from Y1 and Thorn is getting BUFFED. So is arguement about exotics even seasonal makes zero sense, especially when Matchbook and Symmtery didn't get any direct changes at all. Effigy is probably the first seasonal exotic to get nerfed and it's the orbs that are getting nerfed cause they are kind broken when 3 people are doing the specific thing the nerf is directing

No I got the rub its just, when was the last time you saw someone else use those guns, they kinda got left in the dust from other things getting buffed

I’m actually kind of bummed that I didn’t play the season to get the Matchbook. At least it looks cool.

I think you can still get it through the cyptarch. I missed the season that gave the exotic solar sidearm. (I was stuck on a boat in the pacific)

Check out a YouTube video on it...search like Destiny 2 quest for developer who died or something. But if you do get it and didn't get the season pass I would get Erianas Vow if you dont have that one.
