If you can’t get the account back from Microsoft and change the name back then it’s gone for good.
-
I don't care about the xbox live account.
-
Ok I understand that but your conversation is that you have a legacy character from Xbox 360 which is before Destiny 2s time. So all you are trying to do is confirm that the legacy tag is gone and cross save the Destiny 1 account /name over?
-
By the way, thank you for taking the time to read and post on my situation.
-
All good just trying to understand the situation better
-
No. I have an xbox live gamertag associated with my Bungie.net account. No characters on xbox live because I happened to get a PS4 that September as an early Christmas present (Specifically for Destiny). I would like to cross save D2 content. The bottleneck is the old gamertag. I assumed since it was an xbox360 that would be considered legacy.
-
So you just want to cross save the account so it’s linked to your Bungie profile? I’m assuming that’s correct sorry if I’m not getting it. Also you have the game on PS4 currently so I’m assuming you want it on your “screaming” pc (btw your specs are very good for this game) why not just cross the PS4 to PC and leave it at that?
-
Thanks. The cross save authentication process requires me to sign into the xbox live account to activate cross save. That is no longer possible.
-
As per your google conversation. It would appear that account no longer exists or was taken possibly. Microsoft has never been good at recovering accounts especially in your situation where your account was inactive for a large period of time before you came back for it. You might just have to cut your losses and cross your PS4 to PC and forget about a few legacy perks
-
Yeah, I'm going to hold out hope that the gamertag gets recycled or disappears with space magic. Will it before Beyond Light drops? I don't know. *rubs rabbits foot vigorously
-
Hey if you want the tag on PC there’s no name restriction on steam so you can have it back all you want
-
Good point. However, I'm uninterested in the tag as much as I am in the cross save ability. That pesky hacked/inactive xbox live account still acts like it wants something to do with my Bungie.net account. I doesn't though. It very well might be the hard feelings harbored by Microsoft for Bungie rolling out after Halo Reach. *Sigh... Whatever the case, at some point, it will get worked out.
-
As of looking at your account now it doesn’t have anything linked to it. As long as your past Xbox email isn’t directly associated anymore and passwords have been changed or updated
-
Oops, I had the name unchecked. It's there now.
-
The legacy gamertag preventing the authentication of cross save does though.
I only see one psn account linked to this Bungie profile.
