• Disagreed. I love Saint 14 as much as the next person, but that was the full start of streamers are the only ones that matter. All the streamers had been complaining for months how stale and bad this year has been thus far. After all the complaining and threats to switch to different games we happen to get an “exotic quest” that was designed to pull subscribers to streamers to watch how they are doing the corridors mapping.

  • You do know raid secrets was doing most of the work for corridors, streamers were just promoting their progress and aiding in building the map.

  • Raid secrets was not doing most the work whatsoever. They were just cataloging the information Gladd and them were finding for them. Were you not around for it when it happened? Bungie was actually telling Gladd to go to sleep on Twitter because he went 3 straight days working on it.

I was mainly talking about the trailer and cutscenes being epic 😆 But to address what you said... I have never felt in this expansion that Bungie has catered to streamers nor to casuals. I have consistently felt that they have been in the middle throughout this whole expansion. The game has had the balance of neither side being catered to is basically what I am trying to say. Not too grindy or difficult but also not grindy enough or difficult enough. Right in the middle... Do I feel like they should cater to one side? Yes but not fully. More of a ratio of 75% to 25%. The hardcore/loyal players being the bigger part of the ratio. “Focus on one side while not forgetting about the other” - Mikeyrox1234... You see anyone else say that KNOW that I came up with it 😆😂

  • They LITERALLY made streamer bounties you help boost their subs and made that whole corridors of time mission. How are you possibly saying they didn’t cater to them?

Corridor of Time was a community event. Without THE COMMUNITY submitting screen shots of their games it would have taken WAY longer. Also of course streamers are going to stream a new and mysterious event thats happening in a game... its kind of what they do. Can we blame ESO streamers for streaming ESO’s new content? No... Did the streamer bounties effect the overall game? No. They were simply bounties put out on the more popular streamers/players. Its essentially free advertising when they interact with streamers in this way 😆. Do you not want streamers to stream the game? That sounds like what you want... Just because a new event or whatever is released and its difficult does not mean its meant for streamers... If they were to make the grind ABSURDLY tedious and long to where literally ONLY streamers would be able to do it, not talking about the players with 9-5 jobs that still find time to play. A grind to where you have to spend HOURS upon HOURS a day to get stuff then yes, I would say they are catering to streamers. People that work 40 hours a week, me 😁, are able to find time to play the game and still basically be on the same level as streamers. If I am able to do that while only playing a few hours a night, thats if it even feel like getting on, thats pretty much evidence that its not catered towards streamers... you DO NOT need to spend streamers hours of play time to stay relevant in the game. Until they do that saying that they cater to streamers is a little silly in my opinion.

  • Okay I see from your post history that you don’t ever have anything negative to say about Bungie, but I will try to converse with you anyways. Difficulty isn’t what makes things for streamers. Events that are time consuming and are built around people that can play the game 24/7 is the part that’s for streamers. When people are saying stuff is being developed for streamers they are referring to the business model that Bungie uses by making stuff “more streamable” (yes those are Bungies exact words from last season when they were showing off GM Nightfalls). That way they get the streamers more subs, which intern gives the streamers more money. Then the streamers constantly advertise their game on their streams (read former employee reviews on Glassdoor because they go more into detail of this practice). That’s why people are referring to this stuff. There is no coincidence that for MONTHS the heaviest Destiny streamers in the industry were bashing the game and talking about how bad it was, and then out of no where the corridors “community event” comes out and the streamers had their biggest sub influx of the year (until bounties came out) and then the streamers were all about how great it was and started advertising hardcore again. Like I said, even former employees talk about how that part of the companies business model because it gives them free advertisement.

I have plenty of negatives things to say about Bungie but I keep those to myself. In fact I actually try to remain rather positive on these forums while also providing some ideas evert now and then. Why stay positive and stay away from negativity? If I were an employer I would want to treat my staff with respect. Not throwing insults at them and then expecting them to do better... Yes, obviously tough love needs to be applied every now and then BUT that is not throwing insults. That is being more critical of their decisions while still remaining respectful. Also I have been on these forums for A LONG TIME... I have made plenty of posts in the past that have said negative things about Bungie but you grow up after awhile and realize that throwing insults gets you nowhere. The forum history eventually gets deleted or at least gets made unavailable for you and I to see. At least it does on the app. Not sure if you are on the website 🤔 If I were a game developer, especially now, I would think one of the biggest things to go for is for your game “to be watchable”... not streamable. Why wouldn’t you want your game to be watchable? You really think Destiny would be in a better place if we didnt have You tubers such as Aztecross or Streamers such as Gladd playing the game...? Advertising the game...? CRITIQUING the game when they personally feel its not good...? If people don’t wanna watch your game why would they want to play your game? What are gamers doing while no playing the game or working? Watching other people play the game... sounds sad I know 😆. Content doesn’t just “come out of nowhere”... that whole Corridors of Time Event probably took months for them to make and considering it took them a year and a half to make Last Wish I think thats a reasonable guess. I see nothing wrong with free advertising... especially when, again..., the game is NOT catered towards streamers or even hardcore players. You do NOT have to spend hours to stay relevant in the game or to stay up to date with streamers... I am the perfect example. Like I said before, I work 40 hours a week and still make time to play the game and stay relevant. Hell... I didnt even get on today because I chose to continue reading my book 😆. You do NOT have to get max light level to do everything... you do NOT have to do everything offered to you right away... until more players realize that they will continue to feel like Destiny 2 is a job. I personally haven’t felt that way in a long time and its because I realized exactly what I said above. Just because ONE event was time consuming ( I think it took us a whole week to complete 🤔) does not mean this game is catered towards streamers. Without the COMMUNITY working with the streamers to find the codes it probably would have been another Niobe Labs situation. So what if streamers are profiting off of the game... literally everything single game has people profiting off of it because of Twitch or Facebook or whatever other streaming services there are. So to clarify... I see absolutely nothing wrong with streamers and developers working together to advertise the game so long as the game remains as it is now (focusing wise) or if they move over the my 75% to 25% focus ratio. I’d rather they go with the 75% to 25% ratio though 😆. Destiny certainly has its issues... I am absolutely not denying that but it being catered to streamers is, in my opinion, is not one of them. And you saying “they streamed Corridors of Time” is not changing my mind.
