Tell me this. Lets say you get that matchmaking.
What do you do when you all load in via matchmaking, and nobody has put any champion mods on?
How you gonna get platinum and get them shards when captain blueberry loads in, using crap weapons, nothing for dps, and nothing to stun unstoppables or take down barriers?
Whos stunning ustoppables? Whos in charge of anti barrier? Whos on burst damage? Whos coordinating the run?
Matchmaking would end with people just constantly leaving because nobody is set up.
Anyone who takes a nighfall serious enough that they want to farm exotics, just makes a pre made team on lfg, to save all that hassle.
Ive noticed a trend that its always people who dont play the objective, use crap weapons, and no mods are always the people who want matchmaking. So the guys who do bring correct gear can pull them through. (not saying thats you btw op 😁, just generalising). Peace

I did all heroic and few master with LFG no mic. Problem was not stupid players or ppl without mods, problem is loot RNG sucks and LFG can take up to 15 minutes to put up when someone joins and then leaves and then another one leaves because it took so much time. Sure, most of the times it only takes few minutes, I admit that. Heroic and even master are soloable. 950 with MM would be easy even with blueberries, if you can carry. Master I would probably skip, but even that I don’t see how MM would hurt those who like to take their chances. Reckoning IMO is much harder than NFs. I can solo almost all NFs but not reckoning tier 3. I have over 100 recko tier 3 completion, used all three classes in them and all of them done with randoms via MM, not pre made teams. Just to add some perspective to arguments that NFs would be impossible to work at higher level with randoms.

Nf loot could deffinitely use a rework, i agree with you. That said, this weeks 980 is an easy 15 min run with correct gear. 6 - 8 shards and exotics an hour is a nice return. We used 2 izanagis, and a divinity. 2 wells, 1 hunter with swarzenchild and tenderizer mods, to smoke stun unstoppables, 2 unstopabble shots, and 1 anti barrier. You just cant get that type of coordination in random matchmaking

You are correct, it is almost impossible with blueberries to perform that well and optimize. But this is exactly why I prefer solo MM for example in Gambit Prime and Recko (and would like to see in NF as well). If I play with my clan, we go easily like 20-0 in gambit and melt it before other team has even half bank full (most of the time). It becomes so stale and boring. Call me masochist, but my funniest experiences are with randoms especially in Gambit :) it also feels super good to win when your team mates does all under 100k damage together and you do 900k by yourself. Hero moments, which doesn’t happen much with 4 competent clan mates.

Yeh i feel you there, and ive nothing against randoms. Infact anyone can check, i jump in randoms fireteams on lfg all the time and help randoms do whisper, zero hour, nightfalls etc. I just think champions would wreck 99% of matchmade groups, and turn more people away than if they tried out lfg

smart matchmaking they could just make it so that you cant load in without one of the mods and just match people accordingly.

This guy gets it! Even if there was matchmaking, for the very reasons you describe I'd still use LFG.

Right? And im not saying there wouldnt be a few random mms that made it. But id go out on a limb and bet my house that most would end in disconects once the first unstoppable wrecks the team. Its not even so much about weapons, but coordination and mods, and mm cant reliably offer either of those things being present.

I run the match made nightfall often and only once have I seen a blueberry not run anything that would be helpful in the nightfall but I always equip something that I can use to deal with barrier and unstoppable champions on the off chance I run into a group that doesn't I can see what you mean I might just have enough luck to not match with people who just bring a filled slot for the fireteam and nothing to actually clear the nightfall

You can no mic it and just run through it with no hassle. In 950 and 980 theres more coordination required, as theres more champions, more unstoppables. Like 5 more negative moddifiers. All of this is tied to the loot at the end, so coordination and efficiency is key if farming. Like, in this weeks 980,an unstoppable rushes you the second you spawn in, and theres 3 void shield ultras, and a barrier champion, all in the same room. Oh, and famine is turned on too, so health wont regen unless we kill and pick up health. If this weeks 950 or 980 had mm, and nobody had mods or burst damage, nobodys getting out of that first room, let alone the whole nightfall
