Typically, pc bans are due to software detected by Destiny 2 while running. These include but not limited to, trainers, aimbots, auto-fire, mods, graphics hacks, anything that injects code into games, debuggers for programing, even some viruses. any of these could cause a ban, even if not destiny 2 specific. There has also been an increase in bans due to Network Manipulation. These are usually caused by you or a member of your pre-made fireteam doing something... less than honorable behind the scenes of your matches. If it was not you, then it was a member of your team and Bungie has no real way to determine how much or little you knew about the player who was doing it, but it should have been obvious is that something fishy was going on. One of the biggest indicators of network manipulation and the largest red flag to bail out of your team is when your enemy loses 1 or more players in numerous matches. This is the alarm to save your account and bail out of the team Since Bans are manually reviewed before being placed, the actual cause of the ban could have been any play session over the past few weeks. Account restrictions and bans are only done in extreme cases; if actions were taken against your account, then it was with reason. There are NO options to dispute or overturn account restrictions or bans. Bans are lifetime for that account bans and restrictions policy page *I am not a Bungie representative, just a player trying to give the answers that are available.

 • Yes I've looked at the policy page but why would the 2 programs I have been using for months like discord and spotify cause Bungie to think they were any kind of "hack". I'm trying to stay calm about this but I DID NOTHING WRONG and now everyone's telling me my only option is to buy the whole damn game along with all the DLC's that I have PAID for?

 •
but why would the 2 programs I have been using for months like discord and spotify cause Bungie to think they were any kind of "hack".
They wouldn't. Discord, Spotify, etc do not cause bans.
everyone's telling me my only option is to buy the whole damn game along with all the DLC's that I have PAID for?
Until you go through your system and find the software (most common reason for ban) that caused the ban I would not recommend buying or even getting the free version again as it will just get more bans added to your hardware.

 • Been looking at my task manager and there is nothing from what I can tell that would even cause the ban. This has gotta be a mistake from Bungie because I haven’t downloaded or used anything new since I downloaded steam lol

 •
Been looking at my task manager and there is nothing from what I can tell that would even cause the ban.
Task manager is useless, it is only going to show you what is running, not what has been running. You need to look at all installed applications and programs on your pc.
This has gotta be a mistake from Bungie because I haven’t downloaded or used anything new since I downloaded steam lol
I would not hold my breath thinking it is a Bungie error, out of several thousand bans I have only seen 5-6 that were in error. It does not have to have been a recent download. For example, if you had a trainer installed for another game months ago, but forgot to close it all the way out before starting d2 then it would cause a ban.

 • That’s what I’m saying though I haven’t used anything like that lol this pc is clean really not even sure what a trainer is so I’m just waiting for Bungie to give me some details because the only game I play on here is D2.

 • Bungie won't give you the details you are wanting. At best, in the rare occasions they do answer one of these posts they give a deliberately vague answer. Something like "Your account was banned on Nov 16th when an application that is designed for reading and modifying the memory of other applications at runtime was detected directly targeting the Destiny 2 game client". So, you will still need to do your own research on what is on your pc.

 • It’s frustrating knowing whatever they detected is probably harmless because I’ve played the game for months without any issues. The guys right I should’ve stayed on PlayStation.
