So, the reward of reaching 950 base is to have only 2 activities left worth playing?

Not even 3 weeks, and all content that is getting me progress is one raid and one 100k per week... with this, not even with 100% good luck in not getting duplicates, it is less than 1 powerlevel per week... so, we are already back at playing just 1-2 hours after weekly reset and quit until next tuesday... wow....

    • Not true. The raid, nightfall, and master nightmare hunts will provide pinnacle gear, and they are set activities. Along with those, there will be rotational things every week like IB that provide pinnacle gear. Then there is the dungeon and the undying mind vex offensive assault. And that's all the things we know about, we dont know what else bungie hasnt announced yet. I get it, Datto made a vid about getting to 960, so it's the 'it' topic, but that doesnt mean spread false info.

    • Season ends in 49 days. Each week gives about 2 pinnacle rewards, master nightmare hunts might give pinnacle rewards and the dungeon, so that’s about 4 pinnacle rewards by the end of October which leaves about 39 days left. Excluding iron banner if you just started the grind for pinnacle gear you would only reach 5 power levels if you are lucky enough to not get duplicates. As far as I know the only pinnacle heavy is the 100k nightfall run. I’m sure iron banner is going to be generous with pinnacle gear if you are smart with the bounties

    • Maybe you should not play so much. That way you don’t rush through all the stuff so fast. I just hit 920 so It’s going to be a while before I get to the point where I have nothing to do.

      • Keep in mind starting with this DLC they were planning on changing up the routine by having shorter seasons and more content with specific constant released every few months. Resulting in a change to the game play style every few months. This caters to people who play leisurely. I play a lot, but in 3 weeks I’m no where near the cap nor completing everything. I play maybe 10-18hrs a week. So their content is based on the normal time ppl spend on it. Meaning those who do nothing but play all week will have less to do. But that’s their trade off. Offer more content change in a fewer months and increase the grind.

        • What is your Triumph score? THere is so much more than fighting for a power level. Finishing a raid is one thing, completing all the raid challenges, or pvp triumphs etc.. If you feel that it is done after 3 weeks then stop playing.. leave all that unplayed content to others happy to have the challenge to complete it.

        • I play for the sake of playing. Im not doing 100k nightfalls because i dont like those. Im grinding various things, playing modes that i like with friends...doing raids. Farming godrolls... Playing just to reach 960 is really pointless and comes trough normal gameplay eventually. D2 isnt a job after all.

          • Don’t own Forsaken and just bought Shadowkeep so with this update I got 3 new locations and all their secrets/lore/lost sectors - Moon 🌚 - Dreaming City 👩🏻‍🎤 - Tangled Shore 🕷 And more activities than I have time to do: - 4 raids / raid lairs ( I don’t have time to raid) 🧩 - Nightfall Ordeal + Nightfall scores (required Forsaken. Before) ☠️ - Nightmare Hunts 🎃 - Vex Invasions 👾 - Blind Well ⛲️ - EP 👺 - Gambit 🤡 - PVP Survivor solo queue 🏆 - IB 🍌 Etc... I’ve heard I can do menagerie but never tried I’m losing sleep trying to fit in an hour here or there and mostly don’t have half these things done in a week on a single character

          • You'd normally be max power by now, so would you have nothing to do? I totally understand how it can kill the feeling of making progress and I definitely think it should have been set up better. But I'm just going to settle at 950. I've held of doing any kind of build as it's kinda pointless till max light, but I'm not slogging through a 10 power increase that I can just do on my artifact and get the same benefit.

            • Awww, but its ok. You know what all the bunghole ass kissers are sayin. Now you get to actually build/ infuse/MW all your gear. Lol Still makes no sense to me and probably never will. Why the hell would I want to softcap THEN build what I want while having NOTHING to do with what Im building.. Stupid!

                • The power level grind is a carrot on a stick. After seeing how the artifact works with +power via rank up I'd much prefer a weapon & armour power system like that. So we use x weapon or armour piece and it gains xp as we play and power goes up. Do this in unison with how power leveling works now alongside the infusion system and I think it be a far more rewarding system. So if you choose to infuse x item it'll still costs us mats. But if you prefer you can use the item gain xp and increase power via playtime.

                      IMO Destiny would be more fun with this. Actual content is not the problem, we have no reason to play anything.. Just loot and grind gets stale with the RNG, we want to boost our ego. And it must be a fun system. 1) Fun PvE content outside the raid. Strikes should have a similar system like WoW in terms of Mythic Dungeons. With maybe a leaderboard attached to it, so you can compare how effective your team is. 2) More interactive mechanics. One example: All melee abilities should have interrupts attached to them, and bosses and some elites should have hard hitting abilities that is possible to interrupt. And in some cases vital. It`s not overly complicated, and it makes you stay on your heels during fights. Now i just go through most strikes with my brain switched off. 3) Matchmaking for everything. 4) Separate PvE and PvP, at least the competitive mode. Competitive need as little randomness as possible,and outrageous imbalance creates frustration. That`s just how it is. PvE and regular crucible is best played with as few limits as possible. (Halo had nothing in it in terms of a huge variety of weapons and abilities etc, but still the competitive community stripped down everything with the clean MLG rules.) Bungie should know this. 5) Mix up the random rewards vs Quest a little more on good weapons. We all miss the feeling of getting Ghorn, icebreaker on nightfalls and raids. I do love the quests, but it`s way to much now. 6) We need a new class, or maybe new sub-classes. At least a refreshing revamp.

                        • Shallowkeep is the endgame. Disappointing that the keep itself ends in a strike, but I guess that's what the Dungeon is for. Let's hope it rewards pinnacle gear.

                        • I think that your frustration is warranted, but focused on the wrong thing. The frustration is with the Pinnacle level grind. It takes too much RNG over too many drops to even have a chance at a +1 for your total level. The current system is busted, but I'm thinking/hoping it will be improved soon with the introduction of Master Nightmare Hunts, the Dungeon, Raid Challenges, and Vex Final Assault. Note: Because I can already hear people screaming "Stop hoping things will improve!" It is a new year of content, I know not everything will be available right away. If it doesn't improve by the end of the season, I will join in providing the proper criticism. With that said, although the Pinnacle power climb is pretty rough atm, that shouldn't be a reason to not play anything that doesn't give Pinnacle loot. Play what you enjoy, don't let a +1 power bump dictate what you play.

                        • 950 is the grind. From then on, it’s basically useless. I’ll be dude. ONE that I saw is 952. That was two days ago so maybe some at 952 and maybe a 953 out there. For me, I think 951 is doable but that’s it and I won’t care. Some have their artifact at 25+ powe boost so 975+ power is possible to make the 980 activities more approachable. That’s all that matters really.

                          • There's also iron banner and the dungeon shortly. However I agree there needs to be more pinnacle sources. A simple one that caters to all players would be world drop exotics.

                            • Joke's on everyone that wants to reach 960. 950 is my stopping point. There's no reason to go for 960. God I hope next season the power cap isn't 1350 or some sh!t like that. I'm tired of leveling up for nothing.

                              • There's tons of things to do. Collect and read lore. Farm godrolls, do raids to collect all three set and the godroll weapons, score all tires in one hole in the tire game, collect the bunnies, farm bounties for the season pass. Literally tons of things

                                • I'm not even at 950 yet, but I totally agree with you. My guess is most of the naysayers below, haven't reach 950 either. Artifact bonus doesn't count. Initially, I was grinding my ass off to try and get my 3 guardians to 950, so I could use Iron Banner to get to 960, since I don't really raid. But then I learned how the pinnacle system actually works, and lost all my motivation. Because realistically speaking, you can't get enough +1 drops out of a season of Iron Banner to even get close. Maybe you could get to 951 or 952, but that's it. And we still don't know if the power cap is going to get raised every season. If it isn't then the pinnacle systems as they are right now, aren't as bad, but it will still mean super slow progression for the rest of the year. And if it does get raised the typical 50 power levels each season, then only the true no lifers, have any shot at getting to the pinnacle cap in any season, let alone every season.

Level up the artifact and continue your grind.
