Well just wait because if SBMM truly comes back then all the spineless, gutless, clueless, worthless, miserable, godless, useless pub stomping backstabbing yellow bellied sweaty elitists psychopathic cowards who are Haunting the game with their stacked teams will start screaming to Bung-holio about how unfair life is once their regular source of bunkum dries up and their precious kd ratios drop from 3.0 to 2.9

  • LOL I am not mad and I know that I am not great when I am matched up against a bunch of spineless, gutless, clueless, worthless, miserable, godless, useless pub stomping backstabbing yellow bellied sweaty elitists psychopathic cowards who by the way hate the thought of SBMM. Why do they hate it ? Because they are absolute COWARDS and every time it is mentioned it terrify's them to the point that they wet their diapers and defecate all over themselves. I also find it humorous that you would try to humiliate and intimidate me by throwing my stats in my face. That is typical tactic from a spineless, gutless, clueless, worthless, miserable, godless, useless pub stomping backstabbing yellow bellied sweaty elitists psychopathic coward and it will not work. By the way you should go back to telemetry school and learn proper grammar. MAD CUZ BAD I mean what kind of unintelligent stupid moronic illiterate garbage is that

I'm excited for SBMM to come to Competitive. I can throw every game I'm in until I drop to a negative ratio in competitive and then turn off my brain whenever I want to play it as everyone won't have thumbs around me. Easy Legend rank every season.

  • The problem is the lag, for the elite in sbmm. There are fewer elite, spread all over the world. And someone living in California playing against someone in Europe, will experience latency issues. So that complaint is actually warranted, imo. I'm not elite, but I've watched elite players, and them playing several matches against people on the other side of the planet. And often they have invincible, warping opponents.

  • Agreed. Lag will be worse than it is before. Not in every match but visible quite often. And imagine you living in LA fighting a team of people who are in some remote island across the world.

  • But that's maybe 10% of the player base? From what I've read in directors cut, I'm kinda looking forward to getting into crucible again for something other than iron banner

  • Even if it is just 10%, 10% of 1 million players is 100,000 people. So, assuming you aren't in that 10%, you are willing to let 100,000 people worldwide, have a crappy lag filled pvp experience. Or more accurately, force 100,000 people to only have a laggy, super sweat pvp experience, everytime they play? Just out of the fear, that you may have to occasionally play against people that are more skilled than you? There is no way to prevent elites pub stomping lower skilled people, while also maintaining open access to people of all skill to play in the same arenas. And playing people less skilled all the time, won't help you improve your skill. The best way to do it, imo, is this. Set up 3 different tiers in all pvp activities. Tier 1, are people brand new or veterans that despise pvp, and therefore never play/practice enough to improve their skills. Tier 2, are people that play pvp on a regular basis. Constantly practicing with the intention or at least the desire to improve their skill. Tier 3, are people that are elite. People like the streamers that play pvp almost all time, or even if they don't stream, are probably good enough to join a MLG team. Basically that 100,000 player group. Ultimately, the tiers would have to be formed by some type of elo system. Then when matches are being formed, probably taking more time than it does now, Tier 1 players get matched with other tier 1 players 75% of the time. And with tier 2 player the other 25% of the time. But never against tier 3 players. The 25% of time against tier 2 players, will allow the new players, that don't hate pvp, an opportunity to play against better opponents, and hone their skills. Now a tier 2 player, hops into matchmaking, and experiences a different set of opponents. 25% of the time the tier 2 players will get, fairly easy matches against tier 1 players. 50% of the time they will be playing against other tier 2 players. And the last 25% of the time they are playing against tier 3 players, so they too can practice on improving their skill against better opponents. Tier 3 players get 25% of their matches against tier 2 players, meaning that 75% of the time they are against similarly skilled opponents. This system would mean that those who either are currently lower skill, or just truly hate pvp never face the elites. But the around 1/4 of the matches an elite player joins, isn't a sweat fest. I also think they should add a true ranked playlist, that continually has updated loot pools for top ranked players. This would then incentivize the elite that play, to stick to the sweaty matches playlist, instead of hanging out in basic quick play, or whatever it's going to be called going forward. Of course with that type of ranked playlist, there are going to be rewards that the lesser skilled will never obtain, like the original adept weapons found in the ToO. And I get how having good weapons tied to pvp, pisses off people in this community, but there would need to be great incentives to keep the elite only playing in the ranked playlist, imo.

  • As SMG and Luke Smith have both said, they need to get the population of crucible up. Iffn tou run everyone off for just those 100000, then guess what, pvp disappears.

  • This is where I wish they'd bring back trials in some sort. There the God tier could have their play ground, and I dont have to venture there unless I want to. Ie, during iron banner I average a 1.4 kd. I'm lucky to get a .4 kd in qp during a regular week. With the changes indicated in directors cut part iii, I may even do more than the onligory 5 matches for the weekly challenge. Because I'll be able to accomplish something besides being fodder for the better players.

I always have my region set to North America. Bungie does this, there won’t be an issue.

  • Not in most cases, I would bet. Since Destiny 2 doesn't utilize dedicated servers, a lot of the lag people experience, is because of the latency between all the consoles/PC's connected to whoever is the client side host, combined with the host's latency when connecting to Bungie. That's why dedicated servers are a common request from the community. If Bungie utilized dedicated servers, then each world region would just have all the players in that region connected to each other. So all the elite in one region would only ever play against other elites in the same region. And less lag would happen because more of the current client side calculations would actually take place on the server. But regional dedicated servers cost a fair amount of money for the initial setup as well as the continual maintenance. It's way cheaper to have peer to peer networks. Which is why peer to peer networks have become the industry standard.
It's way cheaper to have peer to peer networks. Which is why peer to peer networks have become the industry standard.
Considering how much Bungie takes from us for the Game, the Expansions AND the cancerous MTX, (that shouldn’t be in a paid game in the first place) I think Bungie can afford Dedicated Servers. ALSO all the money they get from that Chinese Company they partnered with called NetEase. Who donated 100 Million dollars.

  • Okay, you are free to your opinions, I just simply don't share them. The base cost of games should be somewhere between $75 and $90, instead of $60, due to inflation. Paying 600+ employees, competitive yearly salaries, takes a rather large sum of the profits. Plus then you have actual production costs, and Bungie Studios operations costs. Running a game company isn't cheap. So for additional money to go to dedicated servers, they would need to make up those funds somewhere else. Like higher dlc costs, higher MTX pricing, or what a lot of the big companies that have dedicated servers do, a monthly subscription fee. Running any business usually entails many costs that your average consumer never thinks of.

  • I'm not saying lagging players don't exist. I'm just saying destiny players are the type of people that would make up how many laggers they ran into into. No sbmm = more stomping.
