Your characters are stored on Bungie's servers. You can safely delete your currently installed version of Destiny 2 in order to fully install the digital version that accesses the digital license so that you can play without the disc if you so desire.
As long as you use the same PSN ID to play after installing the new version, your characters will be there waiting for you.

Shadowkeep comes with one Season Pass, and that Season Pass doesn't take effect until Shadowkeep's release, so it will be Season 8. If you purchase the Deluxe, you'll gain Season 8, 9, 10, and 11. Most of the Season 7 content (Season of Opulence) is accessed through the Forsaken: Annual Pass license. You will not gain full access to the Forsaken: Annual Pass content through purchasing any of the preorders for Shadowkeep. So, to answer your question, no, preordering Shadowkeep will not give you the Forsaken: Annual Pass. If you want to fully access the full extent of the Forsaken: Annual Pass, you'll need to purchase it. If you don't own Forsaken already and wish to access the Forsaken: Annual Pass content, you'll want to purchase the Destiny 2 Forsaken Complete Collection for the newly reduced price. The Forsaken: Annual Pass requires Forsaken to function, and the Complete Collection includes both.
