The backstory of Tiger, part 1

Years ago... The doctor opened up the door to his office. The room was dark, unforgiving, even with the blue lights turned on. On the desk sat papers, and glass tubes with strange creatures in them. The walls of the room was ordained with similar decorations, of creatures in test tubes or of bones of long dead animals. The doctor turned to a window, opening it up only to reveal it opened up to a larger room, with multiple scientists and equipment for purposes unknown. The doctor sighed. He took his seat at the desk and began filing the papers he had in his hand. “Subject 3241, used with Scorpion DNA, deceased. Subject 4522, used with Dolphin DNA, deceased. Obviously.” He kept filing off subject names, until a knock at the door broke the monotony. The doctor sighed. “Yes, come in.” A nurse walked through the door. In her hands she held a data pad, it’s blue light blinking with green lights. “Dr. Fenrir, I have some great news!!!” she exclaimed. Dr. Fenrir leaned back in his chair. “Is that so?” he said in a neutral monotone voice. “Indeed! So far, 3 subjects have survived the genetic augmentations and creation!” The nurse said, handing him the data pad. “One is brain dead however, and the other is too aggressive for us to get in close without sedating it, but the third-“ “Subject 626?” The doctor leaned in. “It survived the experiments?” “Yes! And from initial test results, it even seems to show signs of sentience.” The doctor stood up and walked to the window, hands behind his back. Look at both the facility and his reflection in the mirror, he responded, “Bring the subject to the isolated testing unit. I want to see how ‘sentient’ it really is when not confronted with any other creatures.” The nurse bowed. “Right away sir!” Before she walked out, the doctor called, “Oh, and nurse?” She paused. “What sort of specimens did we use to create Subject 626?” “Bengal Tiger DNA sir, from Old Earth.” The nurse responded cheerfully. The doctor grunted. “Very well, tell them I will be there shortly for the transfer.” The nurse left. “Hmph. So Subject 626 survived the procedure? Interesting...” Dr. Fenrir closed his window and walked out of the room. The mechanical hallway greeted him in an cold yet open embrace. He walked down the halls, eager to see his latest creation, and how it will benefit his career more. The doctor entered a room with a large one way glass wall. Multiple other scientists scrambled around the room, talking to each other, downloading or uploading data to terminals, and moving vials to secured containers. Dr. Fenrir pressed a button on the glass wall, removing the shade on their side. Inside was a test room, and within it, a large test tube. “Release Subject 626 into testing room 113.” He called. A door inside the room opened up, and two scientists walked out. They drained the test tube, and set it open. A strange humanoid creature slopped out. The scientists then left the room. It was here, that Tiger was born. And it was here, he would escape.
