I didn't have a annual pass, but was able to go through a little of the quest line up until I completed the first run of the menagerie. Then it didn't let me continue, so I expected that the menagerie was a annual pass thing. Since I loved playing the menagerie so much, and there are also so many things to get from the annual pass I bought it. But when I went to play the menagerie again it said "Players do not have access to this activity". Which confused me, then I saw that I haven't completed the invitation quest. Guessing that that was the problem I looked at it, and it said that I had to buy an upgrade for the chalice. The problem I have is that my first run of the menagerie didn't give me any imperials, so I couldn't buy anything. I looked up videos and saw that people got 1000 imperials from their first run of the menagerie, but I didn't. So I'm stuck, I can't play the menagerie and the only way for me to get imperials is by completing the quests from the new vendor. Which if my math is correct ( I also got a triumph from my first play through) leave me with 900 imperials, which means that I would have to wait until next week to be able to play the menagerie. Unless this isn't a glitch and the menagerie is just closed, could I get that first 1000 imperial upgrade on the chalice or be able to play the menagerie.

Hi there. This is intentional. Non-annual pass owners can play through the Menagerie once but not again until they own Forsaken and the Forsaken Annual Pass.

So I guess it’s timegated because there’s no way to get imperial currency outside of the weekly? resets with bounties and treasure avenues. Like you, I assume, we both haven’t upgraded our power and efficiency level 1 yet. Stuck at 800 imperials and now I’m seeing that the purchasable buff isn’t for imperials. It’s just a crap system that’s gated or bugged. I’m thinking it’s not a bug but gated to increase player engagement thru grinding out imperials and forcing playtime. This is a real downer and way too complicated. Feels like a mobile game. Better luck next week guardian as I’m throwing in the towel for this weekend. A real shame we payed good money and can’t access the content that Luke Smith and Company were just saying how they don’t want barriers. What a crock of shit but no surprise = that’s just Destiny
