That's what certain powerful gear drops are for. Go do Blind Well if you want Dreaming City gear. Forge your two powerful frames for Black Armory Forge gear. Not really seeing the issue here.

  • Yeah? And Prime engrams currently reward scatterhorn/prodigal armor and 100 bad reputations. You’re saying you wouldn’t want Prime engrams to drop gear from the activities you were playing in and just keep getting the same 4 weapons and crappy looking armor pierces? When’s the last time you were excited to see a Prime engram drop? Knowing it’s not going to be anything interesting.

  • I'd welcome it if it happened, but I turn down the suggestion of it happening because frankly it won't happen. I'm being realistic and thinking from Bungie's point of view. Why would they make earning specific gear even easier for us? Doesn't that take away from the grindy aspect of their entire game? Their goal is to keep us here. That's why drop rates for certain things (nightfall uniques as a good example) can be so terrible. It keeps you hooked. People complain about the lack of a variety of loot. And yet they keep playing. Mission Accomplished.

  • You know I’m not talking about regular legendary engrams right? Those would still just be standard world drops. Prime engrams don’t drop consistently enough, especially after the next patch. All I’m saying is people grinding Gambit for a good Trust after completing all of their weeklies and daily stuff along with the bounties, and doesn’t even see a trust drop, could still have that extra cherry on top chance of getting one once you get back to the tower with the Prime engram you “Earned in Gambit.” Instead of having a 100% chance of not getting what you’re grinding for.

  • It's not an issue, but an improvement

Right but what I'm saying is if you're looking for specific types of gear there are heaps of methods to get it, we don't need further hand holding to aid in going to get something we favor. Primes are supplementary drops intended to be level boosters, nothing more. Once you hit max power if you're still looking for specific sets of gear, specific rolls etc - grind out that specific activity. I've never had any issue going for a particular armor set, weapons etc. You set your eyes on a goal and the path is laid out before you. Want a good roll on Twilight Oath? Grind out Dreaming City powerfuls. There are plenty of chances as it stands.

Yes sure, but why shouldn't we enhance the drop tables? It allows people to grind for certain rolls more efficiently.

  • Of course it would. However I've never encountered someone really struggling with acquiring certain armor sets outside of raid sets. To each their own if you believe the drops need improvements. All I know is that D2 is far more generous than D1 ever was in terms of drop frequency. Leveling is beyond simple. Grinding for gear is easy when you have a focus. I simply think people should be grateful for what they have. Be glad it's not as bad as it used to be.

  • It took me half a year to get a decent waking vigil. But that aside, I agree, I'm relatively happy with the game and this forum sucks butt, however enhancing these drop tables is just simply useful. The slight improvement of chances when its getting to that god roll weapon you could get is having a good impact on how you feel about playing the game. The amount of location specific god roll weapons I'd have gotten by now surely would've left me more satisfied.

  • Not to try and have a pissing battle, but in D1 it took me three years to get Vex Mythoclast. Still never got a Fatebringer. It also took me two months of straight grinding out the Omnigul strike on a near daily basis (and using the cheese to farm her death) to get a single Grasp of Malok. RNG is a -blam!- -blam!-, and that's what makes this grindy game... well... grindy :(
