Weapons and Gear. So much content, yet so much is useless.

Look, I rarely post. And TBH, it's a bitch-fest in here lately. But this is something fixable. Lots of talk lately about Enhancement Cores, Infusion, Bounties, etc etc. Bounties are bandaids to the real problem, IMHO. I -blam!-ing hate grinding Public Events over and over for Spider Bounties so I can get ECs. Everyone does. So maybe we should add more bounties for people to grind on? HELLS NO. Let's not forget that there is a LOT of really great weapons and armour in the game, but so little of it is actually used thanks to Perk Slots only dropping on Forsaken+ content. And now we have a culture in the game of "Don't infuse, just use higher-power gear" (insert eye-roll here). Fix Weapons and Armour like this: - Add an Empty Slot to all Basic, Common, Rare, and Legendary gear that doesn't have the proper perk slots and let us "Upgrade" the item like so... - When a user hovers over that slot, allow a "ROLL PERK" function for a cost of 2 ECs + 25 Weapon Components (look, we made weapon components useful!) - Each time a user rolls a Perk, a random perk is added to that slot. - Do the same for weapons and armour without Shader and Mod slots, and make that a requirement to "Upgrade" the item from Basic to Common to Rare to Legendary (maybe with slight stat boosts for doing this okpleasethanks). - Eliminate the requirement for ECs in Infusions--UNLESS THE TARGET ITEM IS MISSING SHADER/MOD/PERK SLOTS THE INFUSING ITEM HAS - Infusing will still increase the power level of the item, and potentially add slots as per above (while we're at it, add an option to Infuse without ECs for just power level increase so I can decide when to make the EC investment) - Do this for all Basic, Common, Legendary, and Exotic gear that is missing a Perk/Shader/Mod slot (and where it's appropriate to have one) - Master-working (is that a verb?) an item should still be a high cost, but because now we're invested into our gear, it's totally worth the price. The combination of these changes will allow your players to use Weapons and Armour long forgotten about, increase the number of appearance options/combinations for players--letting them TRULY build an attachment to gear, and keep the look they want. Come on, Bungie, there's so many man-hours invested in developing (and GRINDING FOR *ahem*) all that old gear--let's PUT IT TO GOOD USE. Another subject for a future date: WHY THE HELL DOES MY HAND CANNON HAVE GREATER RANGE THAN MY SCOUT RIFLE?
