•
You now face a critical choice - do I try something new OR do I infuse a more powerful weapon into a weapon I am completely comfortable with and can't live without so that I can continue playing with Better Devils.
Or do I just play crucible for an hour, do my milestones, get some tokens and more than likely get an on level or better, Better Devils, from RNG, all while doing something I was already going to do. Infuse for 5k glimmer and forget about it. No cores required. Again, you are ignoring the question at hand, and making a perfect point for not having them as part of infusion. Cores are not required for power progression. They don't actually aid in leveling, and ultimately the choice of what we use vs what we have has no impact on the game as a whole. So why limit player choice by adding an end game material to general infusion. Cores are required to upgrade our top weapons to their highest potential. Which is an end game pursuit. Infusing one item into another is a function of simply playing the game.

 • But thats not power progression. Thats preference. 1000 cores wont get you a drop. And as mentioned, if you just want to hit 700, all you need do is have the gear on you. So all cores do are limit player choice in the gear they use, which doesn’t promote variety.

 • Huh? I don't want cores to be used for anything other than master working gear. Said nothing about buying stuff from a vendor. If you want to use your favorite items, you have to infuse them. If you want to reach max power, you simply have to carry the highest level gear you have. It's a number, nothing more in either case. The issue with cores is not about obtaining levels. It is about maintaining a level that we already earned by paying to wear shit we prefer, not some special gear. Not some end game op pinnacle items. Just the regular shit we already earned running around doing milestones. What impact does that actually have? That choice? If I like AR's or HC's, it is extremely likely in the course of a few weeks I will get one that is higher level. Same thing with armor. Or maybe RNG will screw me. Either way, there is nothing special about any of it. It's not like there is different gear that you get every 20 levels or so. IT'S ALL THE SAME GEAR. So what difference does it make if I prefer Service Revolver to Better Devils, why should it cost cores to use one over another just because I had the one I like drop first and had the other drop randomly at a higher level later on.

 • At 680 it wouldn't make any difference what I did. So more than likely I would only upgrade the shit I used that costs glimmer, as there would be no overall benefit to having 700 on my emblem. I personally, have my gear, that I am currently using, on any character I am using up to my current level. I always have between 10 and 20 cores, and they get used for this purpose. As the season progresses, other gear gets brought up. And i ignore masterworking, or any minute level changes. I go with the best of what I have in terms of preference, but I never go out of my way for either cores, or to farm matched gear. If I get a fusion drop, I upgrade Jotun. Boots? Orpheus on my hunter. Beyond that, like I said, I ignore the whole system. "then what do you care about cores?" I don't. But I do remember constantly swapping gear, keeping my level the same, and infusing whatever the -blam!- I wanted to infuse. THAT was fun, that made me consider what I wanted to master work, that actually had me playing a couple of hours daily as opposed to a few hours weekly. That's how "meaningful" a choice infusion is, or has ever been.

 • can't even answer a simple question when backed into a corner - no wonder you have no idea of the "intent" of the developer in regards to cores.
