Just farmed 140-odd cores in a day yesterday. While it was tedious doing the conversion process at Spider, I also had 12ish exotic drops (4 of which were repeats) and 100-odd mod components drop. I did all this by converting the 1600 legendary shards I had accumulated to Mercury mats, handing them in, trashing the masterworked, legendary items and shaders to get back about 1450 legendary shards. I repeated the process until I only had about 600 shards left. I also did the cache it in scrapper bouties when they dropped and in the process cleared quite a few Spider bounties which also netted me cores, shards and planetary mats. Bungie needs to fix the Spider exchange process to allow multiple trades! Other than that there is nothing wrong with the enhancement core economy as it stands. Anyone who is still complaining about it needs to get a clue, work out how to farm them, or just continue to suffer in ignorance and spend them less. Making cores worth less makes the whole Bungie economy worth less. How about stop asking for everything to be handed to you and play the game. There is a satisfaction that comes from mastering the economy which you spoilt little children seem unable to comprehend.

 • How long did that take you?

 • Long! It was hours of play. Maybe 6hrs solid? The absolute worst part is the exchange at Spider. Just endless clicking. Converting 1600 shards takes 15-20mins of just mindless clicking. Guess it's the same at the other end with Brother Vance, but you are getting loots so it doesn't seem at all bad. But scrapper bounties break it up a bit. I leave the vanguard and crucible one in my inv (they tend to take longer). That means anytime one drops after that it is always a cache it in. Go do it as soon as you get it and don't scrap anything else until you've cleared it. This maximizes how many you get. I tend to also do planetary bounties while I'm there as well as Spider ones if on same planet. This means you usually also have enough planetary mats by the time you've cleared them to get an engram on your way out for more shards etc to keep it going. To most people this is going to sound pretty tedious (and it is at times tbh), but do this once per weekish when Mercury mats are available for trade, and you will have no mats troubles ever again. Plus it keeps the exotic drops rolling in.

 • I kinda thought it would be 5 or 6. I don't remember how many I ran, but I did it one evening for a couple hours. Not sure, but I think I'd rather poke stickers into the end of my winky than do that for 6 hours straight! However, I'm about to be short on actual play time for a few weeks, so I may just do that on the nights I don't have much time. Might break up the monotony a bit more than attempting a straight stretch at it. I like your take on the Scrapper bounties and will definitely keep it in mind for while I'm doing it. :)

 • Yep. It helps to break up the monotony for sure. On that first 1600 trade, I actually got returned to orbit for "inactivity" when I was a little over half way. So mouse clicks are not counted as activity (good to know Bungie). It does give some indication though of how long you get stuck mindlessly clicking. I've been posting for weeks asking for Bungie to fix the Spider exchange. Unfortunately, not enough people have caught on to this farming method, and my posts don't get much support. People would rather beg not to need cores than to work out how to get them it seems. I'm pretty over the whole process too, and since I have dozens of masterworked items, all my exotics at max and close to 300 cores now, I thought I might give it a rest for a while... but the exotic drops! I'll try going cold turkey, but they say the first step is admitting you have a problem...
