It’s RNG. So much of D2 since Warmind has been based on RNG, and that design choice sucks. It’s not fun to play Destiny the slot machine if you aren’t a gambler. Players spend money then devote a ton of their free time to playing the game but that time is not respected and rewarded. It sucks.

Yeah, like I said, I realize it's RNG. My question is why mine is insanely poor compared to the plethora of friends I play with. This indicates an issue to me. Since Forsaken launch it's been a running joke in the group that I'm due for a "golden shower" of exotic engrams because I've gotten comparatively almost none. If this is "working as intended," Bungo needs to make some staffing changes.

Because it’s RNG everyone’s experience is different. Your experience does relate to anyone else’s in any way. Ask anyone who has farmed a nightfall 50+ times and watched everyone they farm with get the exclusive drop while they never do. It sucks. I think it’s a bad design philosophy that makes the game worse.
